the forum is meant for sharing knowledge, there isn't anything wrong with the question. Only that it might have been asked and answered tons of times on the forum.
Also asking for backlink strategy is not akin to asking for something as personal as credit card details, if he was asking for where you're getting your links from, then it's a totally different situation.

Each strategy is unique based on niche/keywords, make your own with trial and error.

search for popular website
your keyword is the domain name of the website
find how many search volume in a month for the keyword
more than 1m search volume per month
buy the same domain name with different extension (of couse)
make similar website & host it in DMCA hosting (so many out there)
you don't need backlinks, just wait for 3-6 months you'll be on 1st page with 1m search per month

There are mainly two backlinking strategies, depending on your SEO knowledge:
1/ SEO experts use their best methods, learnt after years of painstakingly ranking websites.
2/ clients use SEO experts, so they don't need to spend time learning SEO themselves.

Use one of the tools such as ahrefs or majestic to find links from well ranking domain. Buy wine / beer or make a tea and spend one or two days collecting data and analysing it.

The op asked for backlinks strategy, in general only. The op may not want to change his business to something else that have 1 million searches per month, lets say he is in plumbing tools and have been for years and is trying to optimize his website or websites ... , thats what I understood from his/her question. You are answering it based on doing IM with clickbank or affiliates or ... nice answer but it may not have answered his/her question LOL. AND what kw have 1 million searches per month other than porn and not everyone wants to get in that type of business.
