Hey,
What is the difference between a Black Hat SEO and White Hat Seo?
A question from the newbie :)
Why do they need a Hat? ))

Blackhat and Whitehat are terms from the hacking community.

Whitehat = good hackers who used to find flaws in systems and report them to the owners.
Blackhat = "bad" people who would find flaws and exploit them for their own gain.

Blackhatworld.com has nothing to do with hacking, but these terms have been used to describe two main sides of SEO

Whitehat = people who obey search engine guidelines.
Blackhat = people who do whatever they need to do to get results.

White hat SEO when you promote your product and services with google guide line and the result is google don't negative hit on your work. Black hat SEO means you broke the guideline or rule of google and the result is always negative for you. Seo is a slow process that's why to choose a right way.
 
It's all about your hair color. Grannies do white hat while young people do black hat. There's also red hat SEO, which is neither black hat nor white hat, but the opposite.

blackhat = aggressive
 
Blackhats live for the moment, whitehats are pleasure delayers. :P
 
The really good seo experts progree from blackhat to black balaclavas.

So if you're buying links as an example that's the grey side black hat. If you're cloaking, click jacking etc etc then that's blacker black hat.

improper way of seo to rank a website is called black hat
 
Its just a matter of color. It was white first, then some people started to play the racism cart so having the black side is just a normal consequence to our modern society.
 
According to Google all SEO is probably blackhat anyway. According to Google if you have quality traffic then you will get traffic which is BS.

White hat is ethical and black hat is not. Black hat is something that Google frowns on.
