What type of site? How many images? What size are they? How many visitors coming to your site?

I would start with a VPS hosting plan myself. That way when i need to upgrade I am not having to switch from a shared hosting plan to a vps or Dedicated.

Indeed, VPS is the minimum from where OP should start .
Depending on the images size it might be better to look for HDD storage which will be cheaper.

OP would be better to give us more information including your budget.
