I dunno what hostgator supplies, or any other, but mine gives me a crazy 1TB of space and 15TB of bandwidth. for about 100-120 a year. Maybe Mine isnt so bad afterall?
When I first went to get hosting I was dumb and only got one that seemed at least reliable and had the best affiliate program. I use webhostingbuzz and somehow you get like 100% of the money back. I do not understand how. So I use them. They have their problems (only 2 FTP connections at a time) and you have to submit a ticket to have wildcard domains on. But lots so space

What's a 1 TB drive run, about $260.00. So the drive would take them a touch over two years to pay for, not including connection drops and the such.
They need to sell by CPU and RAM allocations, not sucker people in to thinking that they actually get all that space.
I'd say they are over selling huge time mandude.

Some random company called nixism, idk where the hell I found them but all I know is that I pay them and they work, keeps me happy.

dreamhost.com for sure. I tried globat too but its a little better than shit.
If you don't mind setting up a server yourself and have the know-how (ie, are familiar with linux and server applications) I highly recommend Linode.com and Slicehost.com for VPSs. They're cheap and VERY rugged and reliable. But they're completely unmanaged and come with no control panel (like Cpanel) so if you break something you're on your own.

I have a VPS from knownhost and I found a coupon on google to make the first 2 months half price. I love knownhost I haven't had any issues, server has only gone down 1 single time just for a reboot after 6 months.

I use powweb. They are fast, reliable, with nearly 100$ uptime.

Depends solely on you but powweb is a winner IMO, phatservers is also very good.
