I am using their $9 package too but recently I ran a reverse IP check and found that my server is shared with 6 escort service and 2 erotic story site.

Siteground is very good, however I wouldn't say it is cheap.
Their GoGeek plan costs 12euro/month and is suitable for ~100k visits a month. However the regular limitations of the shared hosting apply here also.
For these 12 euro/month you can get better deal at time4vps.eu:

The backups are optional and costs 1 euro per month and backups on a daily basis (if you want their system to make you the backup), otherwise you can make them yourself.
So I will leave it to yourself to decide if this is better than a shared hosting for the same money

Try godaddy hosting or hostgator.
I'd not wish them on my worst enemy.

No downtime. Had problem with my latest vps due to database crash but it happened to be low ram issue so I upgraded to 4gb ram with 2 cores plan for 5.99 euro a month and no more issues. Very pleased with this service. It was recommended to me by a friend otherwise I wouldn't test it. Before that I was using 2 core with 2gb ram at local hosting provider superhosting.bg. There I have shared hosting also for my smaller projects but once a site grows I transfer it on VPS. Was pleased with superhosting as I am pleased with time4vps now. This is what I was paying before:
VPS Start
- 2 GB памет (RAM)
- 40 GB пространство (HDD)
- 2 процесорни ядра (CPU)
- до 40 Mbps Интернет

I mean atm I pay 3 times less and have more space on SSD in raid, 4gb ram - not 2 and significant faster internet connection.
If I have to scale it i give this self-managed VPS 9/10 and the price isn't even in first place.
