The only thing I know for sure from all of this is that an old site with no affiliate links doesn't get affected. All of my offline clients are still holding strong and they received the same type of links as my affiliate sites, but they have really old domains and no aff links.

I think affiliate links are an issue,I agree they could collecting data for a big algo change for affiliate sites.
They may be using different patterns to see how it affects results.Not to mention you can bet your ass adwords revenue will have gone up,it's getting towards christmas and product based sites won't be banking on a stable google for income based on serps.
I think offline business sites have been totally unaffected.This is aimed at monetised sites.

My PR 3 2 year old Amazon review site just got demolished on the 18th (Oct), pretty sickening. I was getting 300 unique views and it went to 8, no lie. Then yesterday it jumped to a whopping 16 views. It was an Amazon product review site with 1 Amazon link on each review about 400 - 500 words. Also had some information articles with no affiliate links, all unique. I never had problems with Panda before on this site, so not sure what's going on. I feel like I just got punched in the gut, but hoping it will bounce back. It's only been two days, but it's a long two days when it's a site that was doing decent. I hate these bi-polar fuckers and really need to get away from using mostly them. Gotta start brainstorming.

Re theory about EMDs and affiliate links:
All my affiliate sites have moved up and these include EMDs. I only had 1 site drop in ranking from no.1 to no.4 position but then a service i use had mistakenly removed some high pr links for my site and added the links to a second EMD i own for the same keywords. So result is the other site moved from no.3 to no.2 and main site now sitting at no.4 still from no 1. Problem has been rectified but positions remain thesame. Otherwise all my other affiliate sites with affiliate links everywhere moved up.

Every site homepage that I make, even my high PR blog network sites created for just backlinks, have 1500+ permanent words on the homepages.

Provide visitors what they want and you will be good to go. Provide relevant and useful content and monetize wisely and you should* have no issues.

Reading this thread is depressing....luckily, my sites didn't get hit as hard as the 2nd Panda....let's pray for the Google Demon to be on our side....

Are any of you guys linking your pages to itself or doing internal linking using the pages keyword but linking to another slightly irrelevant page like the homepage?
A bit of my traffic is slowly returning, like an extra 5% a day. I hope it goes back up to 100% soon

Do you mean like a bread crumb or in content linking? I use a bread crumb on all my sites, but no in content self links

I doubt that it`s after aff links cause my website was ranking for a popular 'freebie' keyword where every single website has like 5-10 external links in the top positions of the page and none of them got hit. The only difference between my page and my mentioned ones is that I`ve been cloaking my links every time...

So far Blogspot hasn't been hit hard yet. Our experimental blogs are still ranking top 3 while real domain sites are dancing with the stars literally

I am doing some testing of my own to see whether affiliate links have the potential to equal a site penalty. I have removed the vast majority of affiliate links from one of my main sites (75% weren't making me any money anyway). I'll report back with my findings, although it might be a couple weeks for google re-crawl all my posts.

I'm interested in this. Both of my sites that were affected (we manage a larger pool though, and out of 2 that were effected, both: ) have lots of affiliate links. Cloaked every time... I wonder too if this is the problem :-/ Contrary to your test then I won't change anything and see if anything happens!

I didn't think it was going to be factor until I realised just how many affiliate links I have (a few clickbanks, lots of amazon and a few other various ones).
I've ditched all the amazons since they were making me squat anyway, I've only kept a couple of others which were the big money makers. I've also done a bit of tidying on my site and added some fresh content, I'll be sure to keep you updated when/if I notice any changes.

I've got 3 EMDs which are now ranking no.1. They all have adsense and amazon on them.
Some of my other EMDs have dropped right off. They are monetized with Clickbank, Adsense and or eBay.
My 2 main authority sites have taken a pounding across many of their inner pages while a few pages are still ranking.
One EMD that used to be no1 has now disappeared altogether. The top 2 spots are now YouTube videos, no 3 is Amazon and no 4 is MySpace (wtf?).
Most of my bank was coming from the authority sites which cover many different topics. I don't know if building that type of site is now pointless?
The 3 EMDs that I have ranking aren't that profitable but I guess I can build them out a bit. But I really can't find the motivation anymore. I don't know which way to proceed at the moment and the longer the SERPS stay like this the longer I fear there won't be any roll backs to prepanda results.
Really fucking depressing on the whole!

Did the serps change again for some keywords? One of my site just got from position 15 to position 4. It just happen today. I hope it will do the same for the rest of my sites.

Like I said, I'm noticing that google is not increasing the SERPs of sites right now... rather is either eliminating, decreasing or removing websites altogether.
Recalculations are not occurring... but spam or shit that really shouldn't be ranked (people paying PRweb and then SEOing the yahoo news links etc) is being moved majorly.
At least I have seen nothing to indicate that anyone is moving at all in these niches.
A lot of trash or irrelevant crap (even from authority sites) have been downgraded.
In particular I've noticed in very very competitive terms, big websites like "www.drugs.com" have had their ability to just create pages and get ranked top spots for keywords with a couple of backlinks stopped or at least altered significantly.
Everything else is frozen, nothing's moving.

It seems that if you have a website with only text on it you get pandalized. Try and add more interactive media so that panda will like your site. Add more videos, images, link to other places etc
