What is needed for creating adult site?

Hello guys,

I'm creating an adult site for my client. I have no experience with creating adult sites so I'm wondering what is needed.

Like hosting, but with how big capacity, since on this adult site there will be a tons of the videos?

If you embed all the videos from other sites you won't need much capacity. Most people start off with some word press site using ws-script and mass embed videos. It's a bit tacky but the alternatives are too expensive. If you want a proper site that has users being able to upload videos, subscriptions etc like pornhub you're going to have to go for a more robust CMS with much better hosting. Mass embed to word press? Just some basic 60 dollar a year hosting should be fine.

If someone is going to make their own porn you might need to look at something like a KVS package. https://www.kernel-video-sharing.com/en/ - I haven't used them but heard they are good but do your own research since I have no idea if their suggested hosting plans are any good but they do have whole packages there with hosting+a cms that can scale. There is also the CMS by adent.io but when I looked at it the sites they advertise as using the system are all old and look bad so that's why I don't trust it. It may not be their fault though if their users suck at making porn sites.

There are others around too. If you use wordpress it's going to be harder to scale and you will have to migrate later if it gets popular.

I found finding a good web-host which allowed adult content to be the most difficult part.
Most of them are sketchy or very over-priced.

Well this comes since there is the question of are what you are doing is actually legal? I mean we all know that all of those websites use copyright content in order to keep visitors on their websites. Also if you want everything to be secure and private you have to pay for the premium, specially for your privacy. Or you could risk going to certain countries and getting arrested if you don't cover your tracks well.

I'm assuming that everything OP wants to do, is legal. Even then, most of the premium quality hosters out there (that i know of) don't allow adult content. At all. That was my point.

But i agree, the copyright issues are on a whole new level.
