What is Cloaking ?

I totally agree my friend. Its only common human nature (sense) to ask a question you don't know the answer to, especially when it's new, you don't know and you are searching.

Some forget they had to crawl before they walked. When ignorance search knowledge, be mindful that some can be discharged with unacceptably presents.

I'm just sayn

There is no harm in asking and learning about things you can ask and learn at places you don't expect to. Looking in to the above comments i guess your question might have been cleared till now.

A simple explanation from Wikiepedia

Cloaking is a search engine optimization (SEO) technique in which the content presented to the search engine spider is different from that presented to the user's browser. This is done by delivering content based on the IP addresses or the User-Agent HTTP header of the user requesting the page. When a user is identified as a search engine spider, a server-side script delivers a different version of the web page, one that contains content not present on the visible page, or that is present but not searchable. The purpose of cloaking is sometimes to deceive search engines so they display the page when it would not otherwise be displayed (black hat SEO). However, it can also be a functional (though antiquated) technique for informing search engines of content they would not otherwise be able to locate because it is embedded in non-textual containers such as video or certain Adobe Flash components. As of 2006, better methods of accessibility, including progressive enhancement, are available, so cloaking is no longer considered necessary by its proponents

Clocking is a black seo technique, in which black hater uses two url one is for search engine and other is for users. With this technique search engine get diverted.

So does anyone have the "Greg Davis" cloaker and if so what is so special about it
that it cost $995 ?

Obviously I am biased but I would say that Greg's cloaker works - and that in itself is special. That said, so does wpCloaker and for folks that ask we can give you an extension to let you cloak non-WP sites so you can use Greg's scraping technique and cloak the static pages as well.

To be fair, you're not just getting the cloaker for $995. You're getting Greg's training and upsell into the coaching program. There's value there. Whether that's worth the money to you is personal.

Cloaking could be a computer programme optimisation (SEO) technique within which the content conferred to the computer programme spider is completely different from that conferred to the user's browser. this is often done by delivering content supported the scientific discipline addresses or the User-Agent HTTP header of the user requesting the page.

nice reading .. can someone of the cracks explain me this questions .

even if you present the search engines a different content you need to rank it ? so you have to make conventional #seo as well to your long tail kw. or is the content this cloacking software produces enough?

is the conversion so much higher with this instead of making a whith hat site with this presenetet content and a affiliate link? i guess so but are there nuumbers if a whith hat page converts 1:100 what is the cloacking page doing?

thanks

Nice definitions given above in this threads. thanks everyone!!

Cloaking is simply hidding yourself under too many links and fooling google.. Simple isnt that :P

I'm still not clear after read most of the topics covered here about cloaking.

Could I say if I make two identical websites but different domain names (example1[dot]com and example2[dot]com), then cloak the content on example2[dot]com with display URL of example1[dot]com and appoint some of the 'internal URLs' on example1[dot]com to example2[dot]com.

In this case, if someone visits example1[dot]com, and click these 'internal URLs', they will actually be direct to example2[dot]com with example1[dot]com URL displayed on their web browser without knowing they actually visit another website?

Cloaking can be very risky but also very rewarding. You won't have to wait months or years to get decent ranking and you can do a million terms without having to write the content for it. Also yo should never host the white hat sites , and blackhat (cloaking) sites on the same host or same ip adress.

Firstly, a quick search around the forum and you would have an answer within seconds, especially from within the "Cloaking" Sub-forum, but i'll bite. Cloaking is essentially a way of hiding or disguising your affiliate links. So for example if you were doing a review for a product with the aim of promoting it via your affiliate link then you would have to give them a link to click.
Now on your affiliate network you would be given a special URL linking to the product so they can identify that the sale has been generated by you. However, you don't want the potential customers to be able to see that your review is just a disguised promotion so you will want to make sure that they can't see your affiliate URL when they click it. Firstly because it might make them distrust the legitimacy of the information and secondly because it looks messy with random characters and also your affiliate ID.
So the idea of cloaking is to make the link they click look much nicer and far more legitimate. This can be done simply by using a service like bit.ly or others to shorten your link, and then insert that instead of your affiliate URL (it will still lead the user there but it will look nicer) or you can get plugins (if you are using wordpress) and some themes have an affiliate cloaker built in. Sorry for the length of this but i figured if i was gonna answer i may as well answer properly.

:D

first answer for major of time answer it right thank you

If the word "cloaking" is growing from the word "c1oaca" (A.S.S-H.0.L.E) then I guess it may be something dirty
