so much nonsense in this thread. who says blackhat is only short term clearly has no clue.
i have some blackhat sites ranking since about 10 years. some with markov text and cloaked, still they rank fine despite all the major google updates since then.
that being said, whitehat seo basically doesnt exist, they just try to tell themselfs what they are doing is whitehat, but no matter if you build links manually or automated its still against the rules to buld artificial links.
if you want to be whitehat, you just create a site without looking to improove your ranking, you just make "good content" and then wait for people to link to you eventually and hope you will rank naturally.
