Okay so I am new to all of this and said F it and started by buying a domain and hosting and setting up a site. For my 1st site it is okay looking. anyways I was wondering what was better to do. Go get backlinks by blogs searching and all that or purchase some off fiver?

My advice is to always do something yourself before you pay someone to do it for you. If you have never done it yourself, how could you possibly know the person you are paying is doing it correctly? I would start building some Web 2.0 sites/Bookmarks/Press Releases/etc. Read up around the forum to get a grasp on the best link building practices as of late.

Thanks, I have been reading around for couple days and have learned a lot on this forum which is great.

If you're just starting out, try to go for ten or twenty, really high quality backlinks, not mass spam backlinks. These backlinks should be from reputable sources, including .com/edu and .gov blogs that have authority value.
 
start working on your site by yourself first and then you will see what difference it makes and then pay for it.
 
Well I will suggest you starting with Social Bookmarking first then moving to high PR blog comments. It will be more easier for you as there are many bookmarking sites list available. Don't go for only do follows, make a mix up with nofollows. Adding backlinks from various kind of sources will be beneficial for your site in long run.

I have been posting my link on youtube videos and related blogs but don't really know about bookmarking. So am going to keep reading on it.

Are you getting backlinks from Pinterest? Photo pins on this site are usually indexed within minutes and pop up on Google search within a few hours.

Great advice I am going to go try that in little while.
 
If you truly want to consistently rank well in Google, you definitely need to invest in some sort of link building service. Building links by hand is just too slow, and there's no way you can compete with others who are using link building services.
 
Linkbuilding is easy but acquiring high quality links take money. Learn how linkbuilding works first then hire someone to do it for you
 
May be you should add content daily and check for the ranking.. Google is now also ranking for websites which has updated and more content on site even after a few amount of links built to it.
