What is autoblogging? Is it still profitable?

There are many ways to define auto blogging.

The classic definition is scraping RSS feeds using bits and snippets of text and attracting search engine traffic this way.

The idea is even if you get ranked within the guts of search results for your target keywords, you have so many pages of content that eventually, these small random visitors can add up to a mighty river of potentially profitable traffic.

That is wishful thinking nowadays.

That might have worked a while back, but not today.

The good news is that auto blogging is still alive and kicking, but not in the way you expect.

You have to use social media content and scrape specific niches on different social media platforms to put together a nice-looking, niche-specific post.

You can use a pre-made structure to do this, but whatever the case may be, your social media-sourced content that isn't already ranking on Google can help you get ahead in the rankings.

I don't know whether or not it's still profitable cause I've not earned a single cent with this (well, it's too early to tell) but in the last 3 weeks I have set up 3 autoblogs (working on my 4th one right now), and I will keep an eye on the stats and income and if they make me at least $200-300 per year I will consider them profitable.

Obviously that I want them to make me more than $300 per year, but... given how I don't do anything for that money and how the content is not that good I will let it go with just $300 per year :)

Also, I have heard someone say a few months ago on this forum (I don't remember who was it, though) that autoblogs are still profitable. But you obviously need to know what you're doing. The guy was having autoblog in the news niche.

An autoblog is basically a website that runs on autopilot. Well, the content "writing" and posting part of it anyway

And no, you are not dumb. You SHOULD write for your readers because your readers put money in your pocket. But the reason(s) you are making such little money is probably one - or all - of these:

- you've targeted a bad niche (a niche in which people don't spend much money, like for example: gaming hacks... or poker tips... meme creation... or whatever. These examples are very bad, I know, but I can't think of better examples at the moment)
- you're targeting the wrong keywords (keywords with very little, or no traffic at all)... or you're not even targeting any keywords at all, which is even worse
- you are not getting enough traffic
- your traffic doesn't convert very well for one, or more of these reasons: no / poor call to action, monetization method is not targeted to their needs, your traffic is poor in general, your articles (blog posts) are informational only, etc
- you don't rank in google (where most of the traffic that converts is) because your competition is too high, your website too bad, your backlinks too few or too low quality, or any combination of these elements, or any other element that's important for ranking in google but which I can't think of at the moment.

not anymore... and no, I've not made any money, but that's because I didn't work hard enough.

I'm also probably not the best person to give tips on what's working nowadays since I've not had a website for 1.5 years.... sorry!

I did autobloging in 2012 and even at that time people used to say it's dead

I heard autoblogging from here few days ago. I'm blogging for almost 2 years, but I didn't earn that much. Question is, am I the only dumb that spends hours on writing seo based informational posts for my "dear readers" ? How do you earn with "autoblogging" ? Can you give some information?
Autoblogging or manual blogging content wise is the same. You just use tools which automate the schedule/post process for you. If your manual content is trash you also wont profit our of a blog, same goes for ai content. If the quality & length is right, you will. Just indexing takes time, google will decide if your content is good or not, but they wont care if you use ai tools or scheduled blog posts ;)

You should buy an autoblog on BHW and try to monetize it. It will also save a lot of time for you.

i don't encourage auto blogging though it faster and safe time but it has significant draw back such as quality issues . copyright issues, user engagement

Auto blogging refers to using automated software to generate and publish blog content without manual input and though it is time saving but it come with challenges like copyright infringement

An Auto-blogging (automated blog) is when a website pulls the content from another website using the RSS feed. It is related to spam blogs.
Have no idea whether it's still profitable or not
well it is not actually very profitable but really time saving

So when autoblogging/ aggregating is not profitable then how the site alltop(com) as example, makes money?
On the other site, do web hosting provider allowing this or will they shut down your site without warnings?
Example use godaddy managed web hosting, it looks for me like that godaddy will shutdown your site when you doing copyright infringement, so with that using AI for content too? What is your web hosting experience with autoblogging the right way ?

This means all websites you import from rss feeds are in general spam websites?
You import feeds from bloomberg.com- google will count this as a spam site, really?

Here's my experience with autobloging.
I created an autoblog by parsing rss feed for keywords and posting them in a news mag style blog. It took me few days to research and set it up. I put propeller ad turn it on and forget. Completely hands free. First google was indexing the page because they were spun by the autoblog plugin???.
Anyways.
After 3 or so months google started deindexing the blogs and not the tags and category pages.
In my opinion if you gonna autoblog the blog it will most likely not work. Unless you do further research and figure out how.
Now I have seen a few websites auto blogging and ranking.
One for example is posting lyrics of songs.
Another one posting itune songs samples.
I gotta do further research on this.
I am planning to autoblog a niche specific a review site. So like a site that reviews travel niche. Travel is just an example niche.
Now I see developers offering building custom review sites for up to like 20k USD. You can also create one with WordPress rehub and content egg plugin.
I also got a "premium domain" for it.
So I am trying to figure out if I build a review site by gathering reviews from various website also add comparison posts will it get indexed, most importantly will it get deindexed later?
Also I want to allow reader/user to add review. But they need to be incentivise somehow.
So I mean there multiple ways to approach it. Just need to research more.
Many big sites scraping products content, news sites too, thy not get deindexed- why? .....
With a product review site you have more options, it is like semi-autoblogging, you searching for good niche products, publish 50 of them. Then rewrite a short description yourself and set seo serp description for all in rankmath plugin, this will take two days.

Pushing out 50 products for multiple categories, build category pages and content hub and interlink them.
50 products each with 200 words description= 10.000 words+ long category page text, interlink each posts to relevant others and home page = 2 links.
Having 8 categories......you have enough of thousands of words content on it + content hub text + your internal links.

Internal links would be 100 internal links for each category x8 categories= 800 internal links, you should get a good ranking with the big chance of multiple serp listings form one domain. You work two weeks to finish this site.
Then let it sink and have a blog with help of AI rewritten content+ add some of your own "quotes" multiple times.

This is my vision I have with a product review autoblogging site.

Problem I see is with having the right EEAT for google.
Do not get into finance niche like bloomberg or into health when you not have psychotherapist, doctor, psychologist or without a trained profession in the financial sector, google will shut you down.

I think you can make an autoblogging site semi-anonym with a little twist;

-use the short abbreviation of your first name
- create an alternative human looking photo from your real photo
- when possible not use an affiliate network with ridiculous fascist rules like, you need first 5-10 different sales to get an payout, or they need 3 months to make a payout- NO.

Let Ai write a good snappy author profile for you or rewrite from others, a lot of big media sites doing this, they not have a social media link site for their authors (!).
So many things are legal and unleashed today, I wonder what will happen in 2030? Predatory capitalism extreme way like gofuckdaddy or feudalism from these wef global shapers?

Happy Sunday !

Those who know how to earn can make money from anything. Right now, most of people are making websites from auto blogging and they are making money

Because it works, and it works pretty well with an AI boost. ;)

Sounds like a plan, make sure to have around 80:20 information to affiliate/commercial/transactional content ratio else you will be hit with review content penalty.

depends on your content source + hosting + domain name

If you autopost content using free plugins like CyberSEO lite you only pay for the domain name ($1-$10 per year) + hosting ($0-$10 per month... or $0-$100 per year).

If you autopost content using paid plugins (assuming you use Wordpress I mean) then you pay again the domain name + hosting + the price of whateer plugin you're using.

If you autopost content using other paid software / services then again domain + hosting + software / service.

I can't know your cost because it depeneds on your preferences, but you can start with as little as $1 (domain name + free hosting + CyberSEO lite). I can't say whether or not you will ever rank or make money with such a small investment, but since everything is autmated you have nothing to lose. Except for $1 to test :)

The CyberSEO Lite is abandoned AFAIK. I'd suggest WPeMatico which is quite reliable and it has a FREE version, which is being updated.

and WP ROBOT, which allows you to import any RSS feed in a few clicks. Actually it will even help you to find the appropriate feeds for your keyword.

If you want to use AI (OpenAI GPT, ArticleForge, etc.) to enrich the imported articles with additional content and AI-generated comments, or completely rewrite them, then use CyberSEO Pro.

affiliate content penalty? Ok it is always better not only have product reviews on your site, you should have some informational content or long form pillar content.

Exactly. Always mix commercial reviews with non-commercial posts. Create a special category for them, or auto-post them on the main index page along with the ad-free ones.
