If you’ve got a warning, don’t panic! A warning does not mean that you are any less of a member on this forum, but rather a reminder that the BHW rules are there to help you use the forum in line with our terms of use.

The forum rules can be found here. We know its wordy. But if you don’t read them, then don’t say we didn’t warn you! A lot of information about BHW’s rules can be found in the BHW Newbie Guide. The Newbie Guide is a great place to look if you’re not sure whether or not you can post something here and if it’s not covered, then use the search bar to see if someone has posted the question before. If nobody has ever asked it then the Newbie Guide is the place to ask.

If you break a rule, you may get a warning to begin with. If it is a first time offense, the warning will be much lighter and is merely to remind you or inform you of the rules for BHW.

After this, any warnings you receive for the same offense may be harsher. The points given will depend upon the rule you have broken. Once you go over twelve points, then you’ll receive a ban. There are a number of violations which can receive warning points, and there are 3 tiers of warnings: tier 1 for first-time offenses, tier 2 if you've violated the same rule before, and tier 3 which is a final strike that results in a ban. Each tier goes up in points and length respectively.

Posting from an alternate account and/or posting fake reviews will result in 12 warning points and therefore be an immediate ban.

But what do you do when you get a warning?

Well first and foremost - don’t worry about it. Warning points are only visible to yourself and the mods. Nobody else on BHW need know!

Warnings are not permanent - after a set number of months, the warnings will expire and your record will be wiped!

If you have a warning, you are not able to open a new Marketplace thread, but if you already have open Marketplace threads then they will remain open.

If you have any questions about your warning, or believe you have a case for your warning to be lifted early then you can contact support.

These rules are interesting and very strict to spammers.

I never thought that such a strict forum would exist, well done setting these rules though.

I was curious as to how easy it was to get banned here. Seems that there is a reasonable amount of leeway depending on how many points are typically given out per infractions. How many points for a spamming warning? does anyone know?

well, dropping 7/8 introduction posts in a few mins to get to 15 posts when your account
only had 8 posts since 2015 is a start. your well on your way lionheart
the introduction section has always been advised no more than 2/3 posts
so when you drop 6 or 8 it stands out

This is right when there are certain rules that govern the relationship between forum participants. We should always keep in mind the honor and dignity of other people, and always respect the opinion of others. But everyone has the right to make a mistake...

I just got an infraction by a mod, I hope I won't break rules again :(

How many infraction points can I get before getting banned?

If that is a question you are asking then perhaps you are missing the general thought process of things.

Ask not how many points will get you banned but how you can contribute to help others here.

Oh no, my intent was not to get banned nor to accumulate points ^.^'

I think I've been helping people left and right since I joined :) I think a small mistake won't happen again :)

I am sure it won't after our conversations as you seem like a good guy with good intentions.

But it's that you still have a history visible to yourself. Now I have a history of many warnings and I didn't get a warning for 2 years which I consider success.

I thought you get banned when you have "11 warnings", then "20 warnings".

Now I think if you have 3 active warnings at the same time you get banned.

Or maybe if you have 12 active points?
