Hey there people, how are you?

Now I know that cpc on a site depends on a few factors such as
1- Where does the traffic come from (usually US, UK...) have higher cpc.
2- Refers (from seo, paid, fb...)
3- Quality of the article and the niche in which it is written.

What I would like to know are these:-
a- Does .com, .org, .info defer from each other and what domain extension gives higher cpc?
b-Does an authority site earn more than micro niche site these days on an average cpc?

Please let me know the above and whatever suggestions you have are more than welcome. I hope this thread will help a few people, and myself as well :D. Viva la vida!

I haven't heard of domain ext. having an impact on CPC.

Are you talking about CPC you would earn from running adsense ads on your site?

yes, and other networks as well.

A strange thing for me is that a new page always gets better CPC (for 1-2 weeks) then it goes down.

very interesting and informative information. I will use it to my favour, thanks for the share! :)

The most important factor is the competition of keywords; to which your site is targated !

Google uses the same analytics it uses to evaluate SEO to figure CPC for Adsense essentially. The same rules that make good on-site SEO, the same types and patterns of traffic, and probably even the same off-site indicators such as social popularity.

1.) Yes, (Kinda) and the extension according to google shouldn't matter, it's the quality of the website.
AKA I am sure you know this if CNN.net is bigger than CNN.com or vice versa that is the determinant factor. Again, according to google extension matters very little, but .com by default; if I had to pick obviously.
2.) Yes, I would say authority does better today.

thanks for the info, much appreciated. Now when building my new sites I will check the competition for each keyword as well when doing my keyword research. Cheers!

The only way an authority site can earn more is due to the high level of CONTEXT its content has. This pulls up the 'right' ads more frequently.

Cost Per Click (CPC) refers to the actual price you pay for each click in your pay-per-click (PPC) marketing campaigns.
A "click" on one of your PPC text ads represents a visit, or an interaction with your company's product or service offering. Every click in a PPC campaign represents attention from a person who is searching for something that you offer. This attention is what you're buying, as an advertiser, so it's important to note two factors:

  • What type of attention you're going after, and
  • How much you're paying for it.
