What happens to our sites when we die?

Death is inevitable, a reality, thought of which makes some, depressed and others, to appreciate life even more. i was wondering just like real estate our revenue generating sites are also valuable virtual properties, we invest years building on them until one day we are no more. Unlike physical properties which are transferred or assumed by others, our virtual properties are just left alone until struck by either:
traffic slowly fades
ranking slips down
and than either hosting expires or domain expires
and its gone.
all the years of work, our investment, pretty much disappears.
Shouldn't it stay alive? shouldn't it be our legacy even when we are gone by benefiting others? especially the ones in need?

Very interesting thought. You would have to leave login credentials and detailed instructions to your children on how to renew everything. That is the best thing I can think of. It would be a shame to see it "decay into electrons" haha.

If I die money keeps coming and nobody but paypal will enjoy it.

Prepare someone to look after the site after your death. The only way to preserve such a dear asset would be to pass it down to a new generation. In capable hands of course. Or of course you could sell it. Besides i believe after our deaths we will be too busy .. well.. being dead.
