How will it change the life we live? How will it change the way we live?

What are your thoughts on this topic?

i think its will very well for gamers industry

I think Facebook is struggling to face current social media trends (short videos and photo-based networks like Snapchat and TikTok) so they're trying to redress the situation by taking a totally different path. Yes Instagram is Facebook Inc's property, but that doesn't change the fact that Facebook has been on the down side for quite some time now.

Second Life brought interesting ideas back in early 2000s and even managed to create events (IBM, meetings, concerts). So nothing new with Meta except VR.
Obviously VR is bringing a better immersion but I don't think it will be enough to literally replace the way we communicate on a daily basis.

People are already getting tired of being 24/7 connected, which obviously affect our relationships in real life. Creating a whole different world in 3D will probably cause more social and societal problems.

For now, Meta (for Facebook) is nothing more than Alphabet (Google). New corporate brand.

Everything else they talk about is still just an idea, some of which I'm sure will come in the future.
Facebook desperately needed to change the name because of a lot of bad PR and because their products are more than just Facebook.

This.

Nothing !! I don't think any about it. It makes my head hurt. We are already in a virtual reality right !!

Hmmm, I think many people in this thread don't really knows what Metaverse is about...

I see it as a virtual reality where everyone is connected and everyone can hang out there...

Nike filled patent to own their products in the metaverse, the digital universe...

It's gonna be big. It's not just for gaming or anything of that kind... It will be a new, digital reality for the mass

Who will monitor it ? It should be an extended package like for workplace and expand gradually in other niches !!

Because of trends, essentials will migrate to adopt the Metaverse. It's the same thing that happened with Google, Fb, etc.. Nobody wants to be watched 24/7, connected 24/7, but essentials have migrated to that direction - so if you want to participate in the world you must migrate as well. The same will happen.

We will all be meeting up in the metaverse. Instead of PM I'll get to see ya'll faces or avatars. :D

invest now.

everybody will be on it, including business and retail.

nothing anybody can do to stop it.

FB have been trying to push VR for a long time and its never taken off, I don't think it will live to the hype.
I dont think they are doing anything new, just trying to attract a new audience to their existing service.
