what do I do with my VPS

I would seriously re-consider.
I own 3 dedicated server, each for their unique usage.
If you don't know what you will do with it, i'd donate to BHW to get access to the hidden area.

To me CPU should be at least core type.HDD 1T minimum.

I guess something that you want to learn (like gsa for example), get it on there and learn it - but I'm certain that if you really start using it, you'll end up upgrading before 1 year!

I want to congratulate you for your ability to realize that we all need to keep growing our skills. I too got myself a VPS (Windows based) for my Christmas present (month to month basis though) to learn how to use it and grow my skills. You can only learn so much by reading and need to sometimes take the plunge to force yourself out of your comfort zone to learn new skills. Good Luck to you. Just watched Man City beat Liverpool 2-1.
