what do I do with my VPS

I decided to buy myself a VPS (1 year subscription) as an early Christmas gift with some of the money I'm getting online. I don't have any particular use for it I just thought it would be a great investment and 1 year is a good amount of time to learn & start using it to help me make more money.

specs of the VPS:
Speed of the CPU: 1 Ghz
Memory: 1GB
HardDisk Space: 10GB
Bandwidth: 1000 GB
Connection: 30 Mb/s

Apart from hosting your sites to make them faster, suggestions on how else a VPS can be used to help one make more money would be appreciated

1 CPU speed is 1 Ghz. Only one CPU core?

If you have 4-8 cores, you could make some money running mining scripts.

yes I don't have a particular use for it now but its not a waste of money... I took the step of buying it because this will push me to learn and start using it.

I would rather run some automated software to collect free points from Enhanceviews and Vagex. Later you can redeem it on a video and earn money via PPD or CPA.

It depends on the VPS. If is not Windows based (and i believe is not), he won't be able to run software, except php scripts and i am not sure there are scripts to do what you said (though i may be wrong)

If you wanted to make money, instead of buying something you don't even know how to use, you should have invested that money in a domain & hosting and started a website/blog or used it for purchasing HR views and started doing YT + CPA.

Once you are being limited by your desktop hardware for projects then it is time to look at a VPS to declutter. I agree with other posters, purchasing it without any current use is a waste of money and resources.

As of know I don't have any particular use for it , I have had it for a week doing nothing with it... but hey within that 1 week I have learnt working with interfaces like virtualmin, features like BIND DNS weird things I didn't know last week. Anyways I know before the 1 yr is over I will have used it for something that will bring back more than the amount I had bought it at

I have domains on shared hosting ... currently the shared hosting is holding up well . thanks for the suggestions though

Well, seems a bit ineffectual purchasing a year with no plans pre purchase. However, a suggestion would be to load up GSA or No Hands SEO on it and set it to run building back links for some of your sites 24/7. That would be automated and you seem to have enough bandwidth to use that on there with no problems. You would get some benefit out of that suggestion if you setup those correctly.
