Coding itself is the skill to learn... Just make sure to understand most important elements so you will be able to adapt to most languages without a big hassle.
I've been coding in C++ and PHP for ages and some while ago switching languages was a challenge having to learn all the syntax and patterns, but now I simply have a Claude chatbot always open in the backside where I can simply ask: "How can I do ... in <insert_here_the_new_language> and put me an example", and I'm ready to develop in any language"

I would suggest to start learning a language that adapts mostly to what you are going to do.
For example if you will be going to build websites start with php and javascript or python.
If want to do games go with C,c++ or c#
For scrape and automation go with python and javascript.
These are only some examples
But I think it's more important to think what are u going to do and then decide what to learn .

Do a legit IQ test. If its above 120, you will have it easy to make money coding. If its lower you can still work on freelancer.com with the others.
But remember, coding is mostly to become a wage cuck. You don't want that. Better "kearn" to use coders for your purpose.

I can't agree. With a good coding skill, you can bootstrap technically any project you have in mind. Almost all big technological projects have started from a guy bootstrapping them. Even little Musky and the BBB (bright bezos bald) bootstrapped at some point their first projects.
It's funny to see those "business admins" trying to deal with coders for their next startup.
Unless you did a big exit, and you have plenty of money to restart again, going for anything tech without minimal code notions is gonna be a waste of economic resources.
PS: I learned this the hard way

If you are here asking this question then likely programming is not for you ( at least as main source of income).
Python, Java and PHP these are your primary one for Web.
C++ etc for gaming & software.
But again .. is you to figure the niche that is right for you.
Also, you have to test what type of code is more friendly for your mind. Only from this you will quickly find out.

I disagree. Coding is wasting time which can be spend on making money - from a "business admin", or better, from the CEOs point of view. Coders are essentially the construction worker nowadays. As a real estate owner you pay them minimum wage enough for them to get drunk every week and live in a shack.

Nah, you just don't get it. You're just stuck in a different time. It's not the 2000s anymore. It's 2024 where every dummy and his dog are coders. You will be also competing with AI in the future. Coding is ultimately an skill like any other. Its true that there is no that much scarcity like in the 2000s specially since Indian government has put so much money in the table to get zillions of Indians to code. But they are not even cheap anymore and they are now owning big part of most software releases which, surprise surprise they have bootstrapped.
The classic argument of "be the CEO" straight is the typical richboy that likes to fire with the king's powder.
I would argue with you if there are maybe other better skills to be learnt rather than regular coding. But definitely I would suggest any technical skill over any business managing bullshit

Visit your targeted freelancing sites, do your research on those sites. Look for what is in demand right now and see how long it will stay reliable and learn that skill. Dont just random pick any language.

Based on my business model I have chosen to go your way.
I'm not a coder, I just know some basic stuff since years ago when I was a university student.
But I want to know how to hire coders and outsource. That still requires the ability to understand code. As a project manager, you will have to know what works and what doesn't.
So, that's where I need to know how to go.

Now you added "having money" as requirement. This topic is about coding. You are saying the guy with money has to work as a construction worker instead of hiring the construction worker. Makes no sense.
I am hiring freelancer since 20+ years, never came to my mind to code myself... wait, actually in the 90s I wrote Hello World script in C++ but then discovered quickly that I will basically offer my time for exchange for money instead of somebody else's time. We poor people always only have our time to offer, try to break free from it.
Anyway, I am not against advocating for more coders because I profit from it. It's always good to have a lot of construction workers ready to get my project done so I can make money while they got paid for their time.
