I checked Ahrefs aswell to look at the links, a new competitor to one of my sites popped up out of nowhere a month ago but I only checked thier links today and all I see are redirects like these. They have no other good backlink, everything else is lower than da 20.

Yet they all of a sudden rank for a ton of keywords since a month ago.

I am probably late to the game but what are these? how do you get them, do they work or is this a one off?
The site literally has nothing else but a ton of these redirects.

I rarely mess around with backlinks so this is a first for me seeing this.

Redirection links used to spoof SEO tool metrics. They hold no other value.

Loads of threads on the subject, including how to make and index them.
So these have nothing to do with this websites sudden jump in traffic even though it is 4 months old?

Do they have any other use than directing to main site for spoofing metrics? Does this method have any

proper name I can use to search and read about it?

I feel like this looks like penalty bait, does it work if you have a domain in between, so your main site anchor text isnt

just filled with google ones like this.

No, Google doesn't count these links. They're mainly made by people who want to sell guest posts, niche edits and PBN links. They can charge more based on higher metrics, and most people don't check the source.

Google - site:blackhatworld.com "increase DA redirection links"

Thanks for the answers everyone, I have no idea why this site it littered with them, it is easily getting at minimum 50 k traffic a month and the articles are good and passing weak AI detectors. To me it looks like the webmaster is doing a good job building the website onsite, so I have no idea why they would shoot themself in the foot like that. Unless this is just as people say, a ploy to sell guest posts, sell the website for more money to unaware buyer. This seems like penalty bait.

Can you share the site? Perhaps we can shed some more light on it?

I've seen that kind of link on an expired domain a few weeks ago.
That was boosting the DR quite well and there were no other significant backlinks. I would probably have bought the domain if I hadn't paid more attention.
Weird that the one you mention seems to rank "so well", tho

Don't worry, this wont last long.

And as far as the spammy redirect links are concerned, just ignore them. Neither they are helping that site nor will they help you if you ever build them for your site. Instead they will harm your site in a long run.

Just have some patience and wait for Google to hunt these sites down in few weeks time.

New question:

What are the potential negatives of using this to boost the DA/DR of a website I have no intention to sell?

Why would I want to do this? I want to use on an AI website so that it is not easily findable on SEO tools by SEOs looking for keywords that weak websites rank for.

I have no intention of ever selling the site, I just want to know if I can safely use this method to increase DA to 30, but not have google hit me seeing as "Google doesn't count these links"

In the case of you wanting to sell links on the site, the more savvy buyer will see those redirects and probably swerve.

That... is actually a pretty nice idea in principle :)

Im not worried about selling links on the site, I dont think most people are that savvy though either but it is the least of my worries
As you said, my idea is nice in principle, which is why I want to see if I can put it into practice if they redirects are "ignored" like other people say they are.

I see sites still growing normally with them, like the one in the origin of the post, but im not sure if they are just lucky

or if I can use this to take my young AI sites off the radar. Currently many people are teaching people to search for weak AI sites to
find quick ranking keywords. I even advise people to do that, but obviously we all have our interest to rank and hide.

If you have any idea about if it actually hurts or completely is ignored, let me know.
They manipulate their metrics to boost their rankings faster. It will negatively impact their website.
Others claim this doesnt help ranking at all? what do you think about that claim?

These are called "redirect backlinks". They are just made to inflate DA and other insignificant 3rd party metrics.
Hi im new here can you tell me how this redirection backlink can be created ...plz thanms

Create the redirect links, and build some cheap links to them so Ahrefs detects them. If you don't want to pay from cheap links you can just build them yourself.
