I wanted to get some opinions from SEO professionals.

Suppose a local B2B hardware manufacturing company has just launched a website and is starting SEO from first time. What would be your first steps?
Would you begin with a technical audit, keyword research, competitor analysis, onpage, content creation, local seo?

What roadmap would you follow during the first 3-6 months? I'd appreciate hearing your strategies and experiences.

B2B hardawre are very niche, I don't think that SEO will work. I'd rather focus on Direct outreach

The plan should include conducting a technical and market analysis, auditing the website, researching the competition, aligning keywords and services, and fixing any on-page SEO problems. Next, we will create valuable content according to buyers’ intentions while boosting local signals, reviews, and links for the following few months.

The B2B hardware market is a highly promising sector; you need to research product demand and create content and keywords based on that demand, analyze your competitors' activities, and build a website with strong links while paying special attention to the buyer experience.

Start with a deep technical setup and precise keyword mapping for specific commercial parts. For B2B hardware, intent matters more than bulk traffic. Spend the first few months building technical health, high-intent product specs, and localized map listings. :)

For a fresh site I'd start with the technical stuff first honestly. No point pushing content or links onto a site thats broken or not crawlable. Get the foundation solid, indexing, sitemap, speed, mobile all that.

Then keyword research but for B2B hardware you gotta think about how buyers actually search... part numbers, specs, use cases, not just broad terms. Volume will be low so don't panic when tools show you 10 searches a month, those searches convert.

@paplolo direct outreach and SEO arent mutually exclusive tbh, run both. The people finding you via search are already looking, thats different from cold outreach.

First 3-6 months roughly... audit and fix technical, map keywords to pages, build out solid product/spec pages, sort GMB and local citations, then start on content and links. Local plays a big role even for manufacturing since a lot of B2B still buys regional.

For B2B Local Business Facebook Ads are working fine from years !!

Focus on Creatives and Proper Targetting
