rank math is the absolute goat right now because they give away almost all the advanced schema and redirect tools completely for free while yoast is just bloated legacy trash that charges you for basic features. if you are super obsessed with core web vitals and want zero bloat then seopress is a solid alternative, but for 99 percent of new blogs you just need to install the free version of rank math and connect it to search console.
 
All in One SEO (AIOSEO) is a simple alternative with good integration capabilities.

If you need better control over performance and SEO, combine it with a caching plugin like WP Rocket.
