What are the best/needed Magisk modules for automating Instagram?

Hi,

I've gotten my android phone rooted with Magisk and my goal is to be able to automate Instagram. Currently I have Shamiko, Play Integrity Fork, Tricky Store, Zygisk Assistant, and a LSPosed mod, as apparently the original no longer works with current versions. On LSPosed i have Hide My Applist and XPrivacyLua. I I have got everything working (passing integrity checks) except when I open XPrivacyLua it says Module not running or updated. The Lua is also a different version as the main one was discontinued.

My main question is are these the right modules to have, are they all necessary, and what is the best way to go about fixing the Lua issue. My only need is to automate Instagram.

Instead, most automation relies on third-party apps or scripts outside Magisk. Focus on device safety and avoid modules that might flag or break Instagram’s security checks.
 
My suggestion is to never ever use any Automation Tools, It will harm or risk your account in Long Term. Instead do it Manually, Hire a VA or a Service if you really care about the accounts.

You can automate Insatgram on Android without even doing all that.
 
To fix XPrivacyLua not running:
  1. Use a working fork like XPrivacyLua Reborn (original is outdated).
  2. Ensure it's enabled in LSPosed for Instagram and reboot your phone.
  3. If it still fails, clear app data, reinstall, or try alternatives like AppOpsX.
You're using the right modules, but not all are strictly necessary if Instagram works without detection.
 
Looks like you've got a whole zoo of modules there For Insta, you probably don’t need that much. XPrivacyLua has been buggy for a while — better check out some fresh forks. Lua's basically dead now, to be honest.
Shamiko + Hide My Applist are fine for hiding root, but the fewer modules you use, the more stable your setup will be. If you're just trying to automate Insta, do a cleanup and keep it minimal — then test.
By the way, how are you automating it — using scripts or something like AutoInput?
 
Same issue here with XPrivacyLua saying module not running. I switched to the mirrored fork and that fixed it. What are you using to automate IG, Tasker, Shizuku, or something else?

You're on the right track with your module setup for Instagram automation, but XPrivacyLua is often buggy or outdated depending on the fork you're using. If it says the module isn’t running or updated, try switching to XPrivacyLua-M (a better-maintained fork), or manually update the Lua module via the latest GitHub releases under the active community branches.
Shamiko and Play Integrity Fork do help hide root well, but make sure your Magisk version and LSPosed build are fully compatible. If you're automating at scale, keeping accounts isolated with consistent device and IP fingerprints is just as important. In such cases, mobile proxies help avoid shadowbans and maintain stable sessions across accounts.

Many agencies use real device automation. That is a safer option if you plan on automating instagram.
 
I don't think Instagram logs rooted device checks. It cares IP, activity, content, other related data.

I was able to get XPrivacyLua working, at least visually it gives me all the options to block and stuff. I agree that a simpler setup would be best. My question is are there any good ways to test if this is working besides seeing if Instagram blocks me?

Thanks for the advice, I was able to get it running by just installing the main release of Lua actually lol. I was going off of other forums of people saying it no longer worked and tried using modded versions but it seems to have worked for me. Is there a good way to check if it is actually working? Also, it seems like many of these modules are getting discontinued with not a whole lot of a community behind them. Are they not really needed for automation? As obviously many people still automate apps on android, are there just better modules I'm missing? Thanks again.
