What am I doing wrong?

Not seen the site PM it if you want and ill give a detailed reply. $200 on 2-3 KW if a fair bit if you ask me few thoughts (which you may or may not have done)

1. Did you send traffic to the home page, dedicated landing page or direct to a product?

2. Who was you targeting did you set a run time on / off - let's assume your targeting the UK to me running the adverts between 9am - 5pm might be a waste of time of I doubt someone is going to risk looking that stuff up while in work BUT I could be wrong id be looking to run the adverts more between 8pm - 2am - assuming this is sex doll browsing time.

3. Was browser and both region set so if you set just google uk you will target anyone who uses that search portal rather than people in the UK who use google uk..

4. Have you looked and compared at what your competitors are doing for similar keywords / where they go and compare the site side by side see what features if any your site is missing from the norm?

5. If your only targeting a small set of specific KW what are the traffic numbers on them? I always follow a 1 in 10 rule (it's not exact but its a way of looking at the law of averages) if you have a KW with 100 impressions 1 in 10 people will click thats 10 clicks, from 10 clicks 1 might buy / sign up / interact - of course Adwords is never this perfect.

1. Both. I invested $300 dollars in traffic junky. All traffic was sent to a landing page. Traffic from google is being send to the homepage because they already want to buy. I use keywords like buy love doll, so I'm assuming they already made up their mind about buying a love doll.

2. Did not run a time. Maybe I should.

3. People in the UK who use googlw UK.

4. I have. They are not ranked well on google.

5. Not sure what you mean. I have a CTR of 12,5 - 20%.

You don't want to be running an advert then sending people to the home page! Your just adding an extra step for people to buy you want to be sending them to a landing page, product page or at least a category page! Home is a waste of time if you ask me. Just because they have clicked does not mean they have made up their mind, you still need to convince them to buy one and more importantly to buy from you!!

As for the time thing, I doubt people would want to buy something when other people are around or active (maybe I have the wrong mind set) but id imagine people wanting to buy that sort of product would do so when they have time to their self and no one else is around.

It's just that I didn't have much lucky with Traffic Junky, so I thought maybe a landing page is not the way to go, but I'll start working on a landing page right away. Thanks a lot for your advice :).

Your mistake is using google ads! The CPC is way too high anymore for most people to make decent ROI. Find another ad network

$200 is niets! PPC is all about data analysing and you will be buying data the fist couple hundred.

Did you even split-test several ads at the same time and ran them through a tracker?

Doesn't like it. You are only disappointed because you didn't know what would happen but it's pretty normal.

Go with bing, same process but cheaper clicks.

Your right about that. I decided to start using bing ads. I also created a landing page today for this advertising campaign. I guess my biggest mistake was just sending people straight to the hompage.

Thanks. I will.

I finally know why I was getting zero sales. My shopping page was not secure (SSL). Fixed that today. I really needed to switch to a better theme because according to people here it simply wasn't good enough, I finally had the courage to change it and yes the website does look a lot better now.

I also created a really nice new landing page. I think I should start generating sales now, but we'll see. I'll keep you guys posted.

Don´t be depressed, take a course of keyword research and take the low competiveness keywords, it works good after 1 or 2 months

Cheers

I have spend about $200 dollars on Adwords for my website, but no sales :(.

Basically, I sell love dolls and I know for a fact that my prices are good and I frequently get compliments about how great the website looks. So why am I not converting?

I only use search words like [cheap love dolls], [buy love dolls], so am only receiving very targeted traffic. Only about 3 people signed up for the newsletter.

I'm a bit depressed to be honest. I expected much greater results. I worked very hard on finding the right suppliers and put so much time & energy into the website. I don't understand why nobody is buying. I need help & tips.
Tip: Keep Learning and Don't give up.
Question, have you taking the Adwords Fundamentals course?

Tag your site, create a funnel, re-market to those who have shown interest in the original click though.

Thanks for all the tips. I tried to improve the website as much as I could. I personally think it looks great now. I just dont know jackshit about how to get decent traffic or about adwords. I think thats the biggest problem.
Then hire someone that can do that for you. Offer him % to manage your campaign.

And also what @LucidMarketing said is very important - so need more improvements in order to gain sales. Don't be depressed, just move on and make it work. Nobody here didn't make it from the first try. Trying make us better.

I gave bingads a try, but they won't let me use keywords like love doll etc. I ended up blowing my budget on keywords that don't convert. At this point I don't know what to do. If anybody is willing to partner up with me and just deal with the promotion side of things that would be really great.
