As we know, a scam happens from time to time in BHW, and it's a pain in a*s for mods to go through all of it and solve it. How about BHW implements the system of id verification where the seller needs to first verify id to sell. In this way, there will be fewer scams from both buyer and seller sides. If it's not possible to id verify all the sellers than at least to those sellers who sells product or service of more than $100 and has a chance to easily scam people.

Keeping personal id and information in a safe way is complicated. It can generate a lot of legal work for the BHW owners.

I personally don't want to share my info if I have the option.

Firstly, I won't want to submit my ID to every website that asks for it including BHW. Makes no sense to me and that would be asking for too much.

Secondly, since BHW doesn't have access to any country's resident data, it is pointless asking for IDs as they could and always would be faked. If PayPal as big as it is is not able to decipher which is fake and which is authentic ID what makes you think BHW would be able to do that.

And lastly, since IDs could obviously be faked then it is guaranteed that scammers would have no problem creating as many as possible.

Let's assume original IDs were submitted and seller scams a buyer, what could BHW actually do?

Marketplace 2.0 will have some implementation of what you are suggesting.

It is being built out by the IT team with input from some f the rest of the staff and it is going to be AMAZING once it is completed.

Many CPA networks ask for ID's and publishers happily give it because if you are serious about doing business you should not worry about anything

BHW is run by professionals so this can be an option

Does this mean us IDless people will need to go make amends with the government before we're allowed to sell in 2.0?

It means we are working on making the Marketplace awesome and are doing all we can do to protect buyers and sellers.

It is a HUGE project with a lot of working parts so there will be some major changes once it comes alive.

So that sounds like a yes :P

Guess ill have to put away $120 and go shlep to the government building and be like "Yo i still exist"

An ID can be faked as well. And BHW cannot do KYC at a level that banks do. I'm sure a lot of sellers are not going to give any sort of personal ID here. The best BHW can do here is act as a middleman and charge a small % to stop scams. This will only increase BHW's own revenue.

You probably want to do that anyway to be in compliance and to be safe.

Well, I will wait for the new marketplace before commenting on the ID issue

I just love how everyone talks about not giving their ID's to BHW

This was suggested before (maybe) or debated somewhere (under SL)

Everything I can add is this:

If BHW ask's all sellers for ID verification, 100% of legit sellers would 100% agree and gave it to BHW

Because they would lose a lot of cash if they refuse to, and other marketers who agree would take their places (literally)

You can still scam easily using ID system by the way, as you can provide 3rd person or fake ID (possibly, even of dead person)

Nothing keeps community entirely safe, but also not a reason not to implement something as ID or any other kind of support to the subject.
