I'm curious what types of 2.0 properties everyone is using as buffers between links and money sites. I've used squidoo and hubpages before and hated them. I usually build my own sites, but what kinds do you find give you the most security and flexibility? Also, which ones are the easiest/quickest to setup?

Well, the two main ones I use are the ones you hate LOL. I also like Posterous

i hate squidoo for sure and to be honest i rarely see squidoo sites in the search engines which was the original whole point of using it.

I use senuke so everything in there gets pretty much hammered daily. my favourites are still wordpress.com and ezinearticles if you can call that web 2.0

Why hate it? Search for E4wii Review that is my lens. I just made money from that lens yesterday so why hate it? Use it.

Are you mad at it because you are a failure? You failed to SEO even the easiest web 2.0 site?

Wow.. That was pretty rude firstplace. Would've thought after holy week you'd be nicer to people?

Just because something works for you doesn't mean it works for everyone. Also, Maybe they Hate using Wordpress and ezine because they are so quick to delete everything without question.

Okay, the sites that you mentioned you hated, are two of my favorite sites, hubpages, if you don't know how to use hubpages to your advantage then forget about it. Don't waste your time. You are using Senuke X and you don't use hubpages, what a waste of time.

If you are using Senuke X, you must at least if you are automatic posting software, you just got to make a hubpages account and post something there with a link to your site, I am sure you will get 5 to 10 visitors from it each day. And one of them might find your site interesting, and maybe they will buy your product of whatever.

The secret to SEO is to just experiment. Use every medium to generate traffic, even if it will make you look like a newbie, because we are all a newbie, that's why we're here in BHW because we are still a newbie in some aspect.

I know I apologize if I was being an ass. The comment to this thread just got in my nerves. But what I said is true, at least I am giving them hope to not give up, just show diligence keep working even if it will take you 10 years before you can even make one sale.

1-Squidoo
2-hubpages
3-webs.com
4-wordpress
5-facebook fan pages
6-youtube
7-craigslist
8-twitter

The list could go on for days but I use the first 5 religiously because of their ability to rank for keywords fast with some backlinking from auto approve articles and social bookmarking.

Here are the 2.0's that I've utilized in the past.

-InfoBarrel
-HubPages
-Squidoo
-Blogger
-WordPress
-LiveJournal

Wow, thanks guys. I might have to go back to the drawing board with hubpages or squidoo again.

So, what about this, so with the 2.0 properties, you would want to avoid any that only offer nofollow links right?? That would defeat the purpose of even using it all. I know there are some people out there who believe that nofollow links still boost rankings, but I don't know, Im not sure. I have seen my own rankings improve from nofollow social bookmarking links, but maybe its just passing relevance, not necessarily link juice.

Anyhoo - Does anyone use sites like these?

Webs
Weebly
Yola
Blogsome
Jimdo
Redgage
Tumblr

This will be the first time Ive ever tried buffer sites so I want to figure out whats a waste of time and whats not.

Are those web 2.o properties still working after the last google update?? I think they can give you some help only if you have good content on them . Also most of those directories have been heavily deranked lately... any opinion?

-HubPages
-Squidoo
-Wordpress

Those so far but I'm planning on using InfoBarrel soon and MAYBE Blogger.

I like the sites that give a little residual income as well.

How many buffer sites do you all use per money site? 10? 20? 50? for low competition or medium competition keywords.

Also, does it matter if the buffer sites ranks? Isn't the whole idea just to pass link juice?

hi guys... i am newbie, Please help me out.
i am just wondering what content you have in your buffer pages(i am talking about 2.0 properties like hubpages, squidoo and others)
Do you post enough content/articles to look legit or is it enough to post just one article and link it back to money site??
Sorry for my bad english, its my 2nd language.

The other factor to think about with buffer sites, that I would like to get some feedback on, is that if you are backlinking your buffer sites, don't you want to have pages on the buffer sites that will funnel as much link juice as possible? I mean, if there are like 10-25 links all over your page, isn't that going to kind of dilute your efforts. What is your experience?

With wordpress, I thought they didnt allow promotional stuff, how do you get around that?

With FB fan pages, doesnt that connect to your FB account? How do you get around that?

With Twitter, isnt that a nofollow link? Do you find that it helps anyway?

You need unique content nowadays as I reckon with Googles newest update, they are trying to clamp down on the ridiculous amount of web 2.0 properties being made (especially with senuke). So I would advise just make them manually, have decent and unique content on each then use those as your buffer sites. Pointless making a web 2.0 property, for Google to then go and black mark it and then none of the links you built to those properties will be counted!

Good idea to include a video, picture or something else just to add a bit of variety. I would recommend having a minimum limit of 500 words and then go over that if you can. (You don't want them all to have 500 words or else it will just look obvious to Google!)

1. Write it in a none promotional way? Just give useful information on your niche but don't try and sell anything.

2. Get a separate account if you're worried.

3. Yes it is a nofollow link, more useful for traffic than backlinks imo.
