western union question

I dont know if this is the right section, but here is my quesiton. We are trying to set up a business western union or money gram account where people from all over the world can pay our account and we get the cash. Does anyone have any experience they can share in this if its possible and if it went ok or not for them?

I've sent money via western union, they are pretty bitchy about things and seem to be very suspicious of activity that isn't something like sending money to a relative, I would look into other options, but this may work, just have to see how it goes when you use them.

Yeah, WU are a bunch of idiots, they didn't let me receive money the other day as the agent the other end had typo'ed my surname - the guy who was sending cash even spoke to them on the phone and they wouldnt do it.

I've heard some people have good experiences with them though

I'm not sure this is a good idea, tell someone to pay WU and you'll look shady into his eyes.

Ditto. What exactly is the reason for using western union vs credit cards, paypal, or money order anyway?

If its a local business, you can have customers deposit money directly in your checking account with a deposit slip at your bank (ask the teller for the safest way to do this). I used to pay my rent that way. Sometimes, though, you will get an idiot teller that will grant them full access to your bank account if they have the number if the customer crys to them. Ask the teller if customers can write the deposit slip to your name instead of the account number. Some banks allow this and some don't. And yes, the customer will get a receipt. The account balance will be blacked out.
