So big pharma knowingly put that asymptomatic Liberian man on the plane to go see his family? Or did they put his family in America knowing he'd eventually get sick and go visit them? Those sneaky bastards. I knew a west African could never have any legit reason to travel to a "wealthy" country. Good catch Roy

HLet's figure out a way on how to make profit off ebola? (online marketing wise)

I guess we should start marketing for zombies then cuz everyone outside dies, who we gonna get traffic from?

Just bought severap domains like HowToCookBrains.com, SweetBrains.com etc.

Its time to rank for "brains", baby!

Probably thats why pharmacy is such a big business :p

What's why now?

Pharmacy is big business because your theory makes zero f**king sense?

That's what most people think.

Search for ADHD and how its a "fiction" disease. Many "mental diseases" are just international agreements to "tag" certain human behaviours.

Don't believe me? Good. I encourage you to search on your own and find your own conclusions. ;)

Well I will gather my conclusions from peer reviewed scientific research and the standards set by the medical community... You go ahead and stick with your youtube research. :D

ADHD has been recognized as a legitimate diagnosis by major medical, psychological, and educational organizations, including the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Education. The American Psychiatric Society recognizes ADHD as a medical disorder in its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - the official mental health "bible" used by psychologists and psychiatrists. http://www.additudemag.com/adhd/article/873.html

But f**k all that right? Because I'm sure you're google searches have given you more knowledge then the millions of people who have spent their entire lives studying medicine and therapy :o

@Grizzly

All i have to say is that there's information you can't find in the internet.

If things were as "good" as you may think they are (which im not saying you do), there wouldnt be people with diabetes nor cancer. Guess those are myths too?

Just food for thought, that's all.

No offense mate, but you have no idea what you are talking about. ADHD is not a 'disease'. The leading proposal is that it is just a chemical imbalance of the brain, though it is generally accepted that genetics and possible other variables may contribute. In fact, I have read a couple peer-reviewed papers that strongly suggest ADHD could be an evolutionary response to changing environments becoming more deadly. Perception changed a bit, which caused a greater mental awareness of ones surroundings, danger and an increase in informational processing ('quicker' thinking, especially in stressful or dangerous situations). Many of those with ADHD are natural autodidacts with higher than average IQs. While you are sitting there listening to the radio in a mundane fashion, one with ADHD is mentally taking the radio apart, putting it back together, devising a plan for next-weeks team meeting, creating hypothetical scenarios and deciding which framework would be best suited for the new project he just green-lit. At this point he may get bored and change the radio station.

Is ADHD/ADD 'fictional'? Of course not. It may not be 100% understood, but that does not matter. The brain is incredibly complex and still quite the mystery. Also, many consider ADHD a blessing and a curse. The constant need for stimulation can turn some the wrong way, and classical schooling can become so boring, one might consider it torture. As with anything else, it just depends on how you play your cards. Are you going to drop-out of school, self medicate and become and become an ever longing addict, or are you going to create a billion dollar software business from the ground up? Bottom line: I think you need to do a but more research yourself. Five minutes with a search engine does not count.

ADHD is a real thing but blown out of proportion, in the sense that where it should be 1 patient, there are 1000 (fake numbers I just made up to illustrate the point). It's such a joke that there's no physical diagnosis for it, but a statistical one. Are you an outlier of what somebody considers the norm? You're sick and because sick is a hard word, you have a "disorder".

What it is, and we can learn a lesson from, is fantastically marketed. ADHD is the smart kids "disorder", it's almost cool to have. And so simple to resolve, here take this pill.

I guess the pahrmacy industry has its own blackhat methods. Does anybody know their largest BH forum? Or do they have a dedicated section here, that I might have missed? :D

But f**k all that right?

People are suckers for things that are written on paper. If it's on a book, it must be right.

So, newsflash. Where big money is involved, science and administration hurts bad. Unless you think all the world works tirelessly for your/mine benefit. Billion dollar industry by blowing something totally out of proportions vs no $. Now let's see, where would I put my money? :o

I am a NEET Hikkikamori, so in no possible ways Ebola can be transfered to me. :D

You trying to give us all a heart attack mate? haha with tales of world extinction

So far there has been a 50% mortality rate with the latest Ebola outbreak so that puts it in the Black Death territory of infectious diseases. The good news is that the infectious stage only occurs when the victim has visible signs of the disease. If that clinical observation holds then we can stop it, if the experts are wrong then we're screwed particularity when you consider human stupidity.

Not exactly, it's 50% of those infected. So, if without any counter measures it infects say 1/2 in a town, the mortality rate is 25%. Black Death was 40-50% of the population, not those infected.

Thats on point. Its the same with disorders like bipolar or manic depression. Of course there are people who have it and need medical treatment, but in most cases its just an excuse for selling you the pills of my friends from the pharma industry, which pays the psychiatrists for each prescription. And as well as with ADHD, the diagnose is so easy: do you have some times when you feel bad and some times when you feel very happy? Then you must be bipolar and need to take these pills.

And people are almost happy for such a diagnose because now they have an excuse for things that went wrong in their life.
