Weirdness with Google Analytics

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I had a few sites that were on the first or second page of google and at the beginning of last month, all my sites were banished to anywhere between page 44 and 165. I checked my GA account and found that all of the pages were now reporting to Google even though I always ticked the don't report box. So in a fit of annoyance, I deleted every page from analytics...I don't like having my choices changed behind my back.

Here is the intersting thing....next day all my sites that were on page one or two were back and ranked higher. Coincidence? Any opinions?

This is my first post and I have been learning a lot here over the past few weeks. I hope to become a productive member once I have learned enough to make some money.

Hmmm...that's very strange.

I thought it was. A friend on another site who is a WPMage addict said that through whatever forums he reads, the advice is to get rid of GA because of this type of thing. I thought it was bull....but now I am not so sure. One site was stuck on #8 spot, now is #1 after spending the last month at #124. Quite a jump overnight and if it had been just one site that did it, I would not have thought anything of it, but all my sites are back where they were or even ranked higher. WTF? Oh well, not looking the gift horse in the mouth though.

this is a long shot but it may be because now that you got analytics down, your site loads faster. And I've heard that this is becoming an important factor in SEO. Although the difference in rankings is too high to assume this. I absolutely love the stats they provide, but stories like this make me think twice about using them in important projects....
