Weekly SEO Tips

Create a Link Building Plan

Build links gradually and steadily Once you've got a detailed link building plan, you can start getting backlinks.
But don't hurry up, to look natural to Google, your link building must be performed slowly and steadily.

As a general recommendation, we can say that for a campaign to look natural, you should build not more than 5 links a day.
It is impossible to know how does Google rank websites, but it is clearly known, what approaches can make Google think that
you create fake traffic.

Don't hurry, as it may really harm your website positions. It's also recommended to start your campaign
with low PR backlinks (PR1-PR4), and then, in 1-2 months to start acquiring backlinks with higher PageRanks (PR5-PR7).

Absolutely brilliant tip. Any SEO who still looks at PR in 2016 should be avoided from a mile away, lol.

These tips are excellent, keep them coming :D

Since i think i still don't have enough mileage here to judge anyones tips, i ll just say that i believe it's very rude from the OP to start "weekly tips" thread in order to promote his website.

Weekly SEO Tip

Have you ever noticed that some URLs start with ?http://? while others start
with ?https://?? Perhaps you noticed that extra ?s? when you were browsing
websites that require giving over sensitive information, like when you were
paying bills online.
To put it simply, the extra ?s? means your connection to that website is
encrypted so hackers can?t intercept any of your data. The technology that
powers that little ?s? is called SSL, which stands for Secure Sockets Layer.
In August of 2014, Google announced that it had started using HTTPS as a
signal in their ranking algorithms, which means if your website still relies on
standard HTTP, your rankings could suffer as a result.
For now, however, HTTPS remains a ?lightweight? signal, affecting fewer than
1% of global queries (according to Google). So while it?s clear that Google
wants everyone to move over to the more secure HTTPS protocol, don?t freak
out if you haven?t done it yet.

What about people who are trying to build a company/brand??

How can they use a keyword in their url when they sell multiple different items from different makers.

Should they include their country? they may do but just because they have their country in their url means nothing when ranking.

Again im a noob but there are people who joined yesterday that i would listen to before the op but thats just my opinion

ON-page local SEO: the main points

Add region (city, district) name in the domain name.
It?s desirable to do it at stage of zero iteration.
There are 2 ways of making a site with toponym:
1) to select a national domain and add city name to the main name
2) to register a regional domain.
Use local host and site IP-address.
Specify the region name in title and description tags.
Add toponym to the semantic core.
Mention the site name in page text.
Create a page with contact info.
Be sure to type the full address with postal code and telephone number. Include basic marks.
Put the local maps with the location of the company?s office.

How to Choose Keywords for Your Website?

1. Who Is Your Targeted Audience?Who are your potential customers?

What words are they most likely going to use to find your products or services on Google?
Write down the top 10-20 key phrases that best describe your services or products.
There should be a few words here ? not just ?lawyer,? but ?San Diego divorce lawyer.?

2. Where Is The Most Traffic?
Create a list of keywords with the help of this great keyword research tool.
Then insert your keyword list into the Google Keyword Planner to find the most searched keywords.
Use the synonyms feature to get more ideas. If there is a lot of traffic (in thousands), focus on the exact match only.
If there is not, then look at the phrase matches.

3. What Keywords Are The Least Competitive?
The easiest way to select the least competitive keywords is to use those key phrases, which contain at least 3-4 words.
All 1- and 2-word keywords have HUGE competition. If you?re on a tight budget,
focus on long tail keywords (which contain 4 or more words). For example, if your initial desired keyword was ?link building?,
but it is too competitive, you may want to switch to, for example, ?link building service USA?, or ?quality link building services?.
Just analyze the traffic for different variations of such phrases for finding keywords that may bring maximum visitors to your resource.

4. Are Your Keywords Profitable?
Are people, using your selected keywords, looking to buy something?
A phrase like ?Swiss watches? may have 10x more traffic, but a phrase like ?buy a Swiss watch? will bring in the bucks with a higher ROI
and will take a much shorter time to rank. Use your head together with machine analysis of keyword efficiency. This is the best method of
how to search for keywords that will bring maximum profit in future.

5. Test Your Keywords with Google AdWords before You Invest in Them
Here?s a simple tip that could easily save you 12 months of work: setting up an effective SEO campaign
in a competitive market can be a long, drawn out and expensive process. Worse yet, if you are focused on the wrong keywords,
you might need to start over again after you find out that your site is not producing the results you want.
An easy way to avoid needing to start over is to test the value of your selected keywords before you heavily commit to your SEO strategy.

6. Focus & Diversify!
Select a few main keywords which you want to rank high and focus on these keywords until you get the 1st place on Google for each of them. Don?t invest in more than 5 keywords at a time unless you can afford that or if your keywords are long tail keywords (with very low competition). One of the biggest mistakes of many SEOs is trying to reach high rankings for 10 or more highly competitive keywords at once with a low budget. Nowadays, the best way, used by SEO professionals, to get into the Top 10 of Google, is to target long tail keywords because they are much less competitive, more profitable and less risky. And plus they can bring you the same traffic as a short keyword if you invest in these long tail keywords the same amount of money. You may got more information on keywords research here

Before buying an expired domain make sure it was not previously killed with terrible links. It's hard to index your pages when a domain has previously been penalized because someone bought cheap links that contain hardly no content. You can use Majestic to see the link history of a domain and make your decision.
