I bought a expired domain with good metrics from a good seller here on BHW. I have top quality content and good on page SEO. My website is indexed by G but none of my keywords are even ranked. I did not do any back linking yet other then having the expired domain links. Usually I get my rankings on the 2nd or 3rd page for on page alone. Any idea why my easy keywords are not showing up? I don't use GWT as most of my websites are ranking just find without it.

When did you put the site up?

When was the site indexed?

Are you sure about competition?

If it was recently, we have a core update now and every KW I have is bouncing around like crazy - especially 'easy KWs'. My harder KWs are moving up slightly but the easy ones are moving a bit. (Some up to 50 places both ways).

Time also could be a factor. Even super easy KWs take a bit to pop up. Is your site structured to pass link juice from those expired links?

I just started with expired domain and same thing is happening to me. With new websites, it shows on SERPs and with expired it's not. Would love to know more from someone as well.

First of all, metrics mean NOTHING.

Your keywords are either at the very least competitive, or your site hasn't been full crawled.

My guess, is they are competitive.

If you're ranking on page 2 or 3 without off-site SEO, you're in the wrong niche.

"good metrics from a good seller here on BHW"

There is no such thing my friend, its all gibabibbar talk to illude people...

"ARE YOU TIERED TO SPEND TONS OF MONEY IN SEO SERVICES THAT DOES NOT RANK YOUR KEYWORDS?"

ALL SAME SHIT...

sorry but this is marketplace today

Really? A single link didn't rank you?

In all honestly though, you gotta up your game son...

Stats indeed do not mean everything.

I am going to assume that you have checked it's history and it was clean before starting. The fact you are indexed would suggest the domain is not penalised too badly if at all.

Ultimately you shouldn't rely too much on the strength of the domain and it's old backlinks, get some more good backlinks and gradually build it up to show the search engines that the content is current.

if you are targeting long tail keyword with good on page seo for your own site, and there is no footprint on PBN than it help for site index or page index.

buying a expired domain is always a risk,
theres no way to tell what the history has made on that domain, is that even have a penalties in past? no one can say,

im usually using expired domains too
who said metrics is not important? its better to have than nothing, or rank like a turtle

let me give you a piece of advice,
when buying expired domain, make sure its still indexed by google atlest 1 url is indexed is good
dont focus too much in MOZ metrics its a plus but, page rank still matters until today...and TRUST FLOW.

and also since january 12 until today there some massive update is happening on google, you should be patient.

Focus on strong on-page SEO, get the pagespeed as fast as possible, and try a decent press release with the domain or brand as the anchor.

From my experience, it takes a little while to settle down (expired domains). Wait for 4-5 days more days to see how it goes. Another reason might be the core update going on...

^ This

Third party metrics from Moz or Majestic are meaningless. They aren't ranking your site - Google is.

Send some links to the site and see if they have any effect on its ranking. You can't expect a site to rank with old links alone, especially since they might not even be relevant to the keywords you're targeting now.

Yeah, sure. In fact, everything in life is meaningless IF you don't know how to asses them. Those metrics are early filters, you just need to validate them. Those metrics are prone to manipulations, you just need to weed out the bad seeds. What is wrong here is if someone take the metrics blindly. And when another someone jumped into conclusion as blindly as well. 3rd party like MOZ or Majestic are not meaningless. They are big data pools. They aren't ranking your site but they give you valuable info of what's going on. You're in the dark and Google is a secrecy biatch, with imperfection algo which lead to too many anomalies which then makes you made up your own myths : "You can't expect this.. that.. bla.. bla.." Do not blame something either because you don't know how to take the benefits from or because you're simply clueless.

One link to rank your site, are you serious ? OR did i read it wrong.

This.

I wonder about this for a very long of time. You just need to blast your web with high PR links "slowly", + social media signals + buy bounce traffic and flood to your website..
