Hi

I was a long time lurker, now I have a reason to finally register. Love this place, learned a thing or two and I hopefully learn another thing or two. Currently I'm looking for some additional income streams. In the best case anonymous income streams. Since data is very valuable, I want to try and sell it. I have found a couple platforms which would fit my selling needs and when the first dataset is ready, I will also upgrade my account here and sell on bhw with a discount.

The problem is, that I don't know whats in demand. I'm not looking for technical instructions, for me the technical part will be easy since I have worked on very complicated software projects before. I rather need some suggestions on which data is valuable.

Do you have any suggestions? Which datasets would be interesting for you? Which ones are generally in high demand? Maybe there are some niches?

Feel free to suggest anything that people would pay money for, the more suggestions the better.

Scrape and make your websites with scraped data + chatgpt.
Put ads and enjoy

This is a good idea. Thank you.

I will do something similar in the long run. First I need to figure out which datasets are worth scraping.

Some in-demand datasets include consumer behavior, social media engagement, e-commerce pricing, financial trends, real estate data, and geospatial info. Industry-specific datasets like automotive or fashion can also be valuable. Focus on data that helps businesses make better decisions or gain a competitive edge.

Thank you for your reply. All of this sounds good and reasonable, but can you maybe elaborate on consumer behavior?

which aspects of consumer behavior is most interesting?
for which reasons?
and for which kind of people is this info valuable?

This question crops up on the forum every now and again. My answer is to take a look through the WTB and HAF sub forums to see what data people are actually currently needing.

A lot of people want Reddit data, Instagram data, GMB data. Anything that can create leads for cold emailing etc seems to be popular

Consumer behavior data shows what people buy and how they interact with brands. Businesses use it to understand customer needs, improve products, and create better marketing strategies. It helps companies make smarter decisions and stay competitive.
