Of course, you are talking to a server, that's how the internet works. Clients ask servers for data... . With Web3 you can connect to YOUR node, so you are not connecting to a public compromised server...

Nopes sadly. I am still waiting for a js framework that can directly speak to the blockchain without using a provider, and waits for tx confirmation from the blockchain on write queries for example. I dunno if it is atall possible but hey..

It's revolutionary and everyone from the visitor can participate and get a share in the project. There is no single owner. You believe in a game, you hub in whether by investing money buying its coin, or by developing, publishing ..etc and getting your share.
To convert youtube into web 3.0 .. when you share, you earn coins, when you comment, you earn coins, when you upload video you get coins. So, everyone involved is getting his share based on his effort. No one owner is controlling the platform. Hope this makes sense

That’s the point man. I was never trying to say the “ideal solution” is missing. If you read my op again, I just said that what people think is decentralised isn’t really decentralised at the end of the day. We for example work with the same solution (not on ethereum or bsc though). My first statement was more theoretical than practical. You guys then jumped on me lol.
p.s. again, you are just talking to an api server that does the talking for you.

It seems you still do not understand. Ofc you are talking to an API server because that's how software communicates. The difference is with web3 you can talk to your own "gateway" (blockchain node) which is run by you, not a 3rd party. The blockchain node then connects to other peers, which is decentralized. This is not possible with web2.0 where all the servers are run by 3rd party like Google or Facebook.That’s the point man. I was never trying to say the “ideal solution” is missing. Ok, Lets say you are using a dapp for buying something. let’s say the api that replies you runs a full mode and it responds that a tx is done. How many servers said the tx is done? One? Or several? Let’s not worry about what’s going on in the backend. Just take the confirmation message.
