Web 2.0s Ranking Higher Than Money Site?

I have been looking for a solution and am unable to find one. My web 2.0s rank higher in the serps than my money site. I'm trying to figure out what is happening. I have around 5k spam links pointed to my web 2.0s and only high quality links pointed to my target site. Believe it or not, I'm just trying to rank the company's name but Yelp, Twitter, and other citation sites are above it, and now so are my web 2.0s... Does anyone know of anything that can fix this?
PS. I submitted tons of citations a week ago so maybe that will help in the future? I just need some guidance at the moment.

Links to your money site are probably crap, and spam is winning till get gets 'caught'.

Same happened with me recently..
Though I was not spamming my 2.0s like you are but still they were on top of my main site.
Then after 2 days they disappeared and never came back.

Do more SEO on the money site. Not spammy stuff, but good backlinks, just build more and focus on the social media links until it outranks yelp and the web 2.0s.

Apply that web 2.0 on GSA and then check,may be you will get some more positive ranking.

It may sound obvious, but check your onsite SEO, KW density (for the whole page, not just target KWs), LSI's, etc. I've had a similar thing happen, but was fixed in a week after some tinkering. If you're confident that onsite is solid, keep up the links and it will clear up in time. If the website is relatively new less than 5ish months, I wouldn't worry. In my experience there is something fishy with google and some new sites, but it should clear up in time after the links and domain age a bit.

When this happens, its typically either due to the pages being promoted having too high of a keyword density, or the links that you have made aren't varied enough, or too exact.

Regarding your linking practices, your promoted site should have some kind of a brand name, and links with variants of your brand should be the majority of your links (I try to keep it around 70% include brand), many "click here" and "this page" type of links, but keep that varied. Only a small percentage of your incoming links should be exact.

I usually take the highest quality links that I receive and make a few of those exacts, around 5% on a small amount of links (5 of 100), but it might be 1% on a larger amount. (10 of 1000) etc. It helps that if you can edit pages that you get exacts from at a later date, in case you believe you've over-optimized and need to reduce your incoming exact anchors to tweak your rankings.

Those are going to take some time to kick in... they never have an immediate effect.

Web2.0s are like fighters. Initially, they're tanks and easy to level up. Domains you own are like wizards, in the beginning they're quite squishy and easy to kill. At high levels, if your wizard actually makes it that far, they become quite powerful, and could easily squash multiple fighters with one spell.


There are situations where parasite hosting is preferred, they're easy to scale up without increasing your footprint from DNS and hosting, they skip the sandbox, inherit some credibility from the root domain, accept links easier without getting snagged and they're FREE. On the downside, you don't really own it and its hard to flip. Using web2.0s as money sites, simply for their ability to rank better without much work, can be viable.


If you're having problems outranking web2.0s (even ones you made yourself), its probably because you're trying really hard to optimize your main site, and very lightly trying to optimize your web2.0s.

give anchor text and link from your web 2.0 to your main site, and keep backlink main site with quality

They might be ranking higher than your money site for a couple of days, but they'll eventually crumble since they have spam links whereas you have quality.

Its known as black hat SEO.
