Web 2.0's for Web 2.0's??

So I am starting to get into this SEO stuff, instead of just ranking vids, Im trying to get into ranking some sites as well. Im trying to build some quality backlinks manually by doing some web 2.0's. Problem is, I dont have any registered domains or anything yet, just blogger, which I have been using to test my SEO skills before buying an actual domain. Blogger is a web 2.0 itself though! So my question is, is it worth it to spend time creating a bunch of backlinks through web 2.0's, when it would be backlinking right back to a web 2.0? Lol if that makes sense. Or should I just go ahead and invest in a domain and hosting and try my chances there?

i would suggest you to get a domain name and a hosting. When put all of your hard work on a web 2.0 site. Better put up your effrot to a domain and a site that you have full control of.

Alright thanks for the input man, I was thinking the same, just like testing things out before I invest. So thats why I use free blogger to see if something is popular. But I guess your right, time to make some investment and get this shit rollin.
 
Maybe you could get set up using a freehost or an extremely cheap one at a few dollars and invest in a domain name. You'll need the domain eventually so might as well get it bought now, but keep the hosting plan cheap for testing purposes. Good luck with your plans!
 
It shouldn't take anymore than $50-$100 to get a domain and a years worth of hosting (quality).
You can easily earn that+ in a year, glad to hear you call it an investment.

And yes you can rank web 2.0's as your money site (naturally they tend to outrank fresh domains anyway) using more web 2.0s and so on.
Don't be afraid of somebody taking your site down, Google can take a fresh domain down just as easily so there's always a risk.

Alright thanks for the reply bro. I think what I am going to do is setup a domain for the niche I am using now, now that I know there is a little bit of a market for it. But continue to use blogger as well for new niche ideas to see how they go. Plus I would think google would highly regard blogger considering they own it. Lol only thing that sucks is content locking is pretty much out of the question unless you want to get taken down at a pretty quick rate. Ha but if you dont mind me asking you one more question, what type of content would I need to put into these other web 2.0's that I'm using for backlinks? Just maybe like a 500 word article explaining the niche and then put my money site at bottom for reference? Or mention money site somewhere in the middle, or what??
 
Once you get soem cash, get a domain and hosting, then point the blogger (web 2.0s) to your domain, that would be instant high quality backlinks!
 
Just get a domain name and kick start ! Make sure while doing the SEO, READ AND LEARN FIRST ! No unwanted monkey business and you will be out from google penalty and updates. All the best ! Save your time and effort
 
It's definitely still possible to rank web 2.0's, but you're putting yourself at a disadvantage.

I'd advise investing in a domain and some hosting and learning your SEO skills from there.
 
Use the 2.0 until you have enough money to get a domain... i made hundreds with a very basic blogger back in the day... they are good for seo as well as you can spam them without having to hurry much.
 
Well the problem with using a 2.0 is you don't own it, and they can close your account for no reason, at any time, at their sole discretion. So if I were you I'd buy my own domain and hosting, then you own the site and reap the benefits from hard work invested in it.
 
As others said use Web2.0s until you have enough for a domain / hosting. Really it's the domain that you want mainly. Search for coupon codes, you can often pick up domains for $0.99!
 
I suggest first to start your own blog, then after you should give your efforts with backlink of your blog to the web 2.0's.
 
I think you should go for your own domain and hosting - and now a days SEO and link building strategies are changing more frequently - so not just only for web 2.0 but for other strategies you can do a test and trail which you can't do at your blogger.
 
Yes Definitely, Web 2.0 is still working. If you provide quality content, use proper anchor text and then promote your web 2.0 sites on social media and social bookmarking sites, you should get results. Make sure you create backlinks to your Tier 1 sites. This will make the page more authoritative and will pass juice to your site.
 
Get a domain. There are bustards like Squidoo and Blogger that can ruin your efforts in a split second for some stupid reason. Use web 2 sites for backlinking and traffic tool. Get a site and get full control untill you have time. Take care and don't stop trying.
