Web 2.0 profiles still relevant in 2018?

Hi all,

I have noticed that a lot of services still package so called Premium Web 2.0 Profiles as Tier1. I personally have not used them in years. So I was curious if they can still be used in smaller quantities for link diversity without causing some major increases in chances of getting penalized.

A quick search on BHW, did not show any recent posts at all on the subject. All thoughts are welcomed :)

Yes, it still worth making a bunch of quality web 2.0s for your website.

hmmm.... interesting, I was a bit skeptical of how google would perceive them these days. That is good to know. Thanks for the opinions.
 
We use Web 2.0 as mini pbn & they work well, lower chance to be panalyze because they hold high authority.

it's not easy for google to devalue them because 70-80% peoples are real on those platforms they use web 2.0's for blogging or other causes do you think google will devalue stuffs from real people.
 
just to be clear we are all on the same page, I am talking about Web 2.0 profiles not properties like weebly, tumblr, wordpress, etc...

High DA Profile still in trend they do their work perfectly.
Good for only diversify link profile & also increase authority.
 
OP talks about web 2.0 profiles. They do work and are a nice addition as a diversity to your whole link building campaign. I'd suggest building some tiered links to those profiles to make them more effective and depending on your whole anchor text distribution, most of the time just naked URL is advisable to be used.

My experience is that they are great for diversification of anchor text, but only if indexed. Most are not indexed. Of course, they pass little power unless you build T2 links to them.

Sorry I am noob. Could you explain what do you mean with web 2.0 ''profiles'' ?

What you mean with profiles? I know web 2.0... but never herd of profiles

Could you make examples of web 2.0?

Is it wordpress a web 2.0 ?

If yes, then if I will make a new completly fresh website how can this have SEO power? (It's new... no backlinks pointing to him...)

Not clear about your question what you want to ask if no link pointing to web 2.0 than they are useless in my opinion.

There are lot of thread available on bhw about how to rank with web 2.0 properties, how make super web 2.0 etc use the search feature you will find easilly.

Ranking in SERP depends on many factors like keywords competition, on-page optimization, links etc. so no one answer this question how can i rank my site without know the details
 
I agree with Unreliable Witness about using them to diversify your anchor texts. Aside from this, they should be indexed so that you are actually getting something out of them.
 
WEB 2.0 Profiles are still good, but not awesome. It's recommended to use it as diversity, and not taking spammed sites. I remember when i was trying to rank KW around 3k/month was in 5 position, but after brainless web 2.0 profiles with Rankerx, dropped to 8-10.
 
Just like most links, any sort of links can work - provided if they are legit and has the necessary link juice. With PR taken off the menu, we can only rely on other metrics to gauge the link power from that domain - thus, if an expired web2.0 has TF>20, DA/PA>35, that should be a keeper and should flow the necessary link juice back to your site, just like a regular domain would.
If it is just a newly setup web2.0 - then it will be yes and no. No = if the site is brand new with nothing (no backlinks, no nothing), then this is just a new site that has no link power that will flow to your site.
Yes = there are some web2.0 that has yet to be flagged properly, meaning it retains the root domain's authority, even though the web2.0 is a sub-domain, then these would definitely be good addition to your site as well.
 
WEB 2.0 Profiles are still good. Because I still using Web 2.0 Premium and Web 2.0 Profile has DA >50 in RankerX , I still get a good rank in Google, Bing and Yahoo. However, you should use Shorter URL for Money Site, It will help you to shorten your URL, make long URl short and protect your URLs

NOTED: The key to getting high SEO rankings is to identify which words or phrases best describe the site or the business.(300-500 words).
