    Hi there,

yes i know, that might sound a bit strange. But since some of the Web2.0 s rank quite well i wonder if it would make sense to use them as a moneysite itself instead of the regular 1st or 2nd tier layers.
Could you recommend any web2.0 s (beside Blogger) on which affiliatelinks will stick and sites won t get deleted ?

    thanks

You're never safe with web2.0 profiles, they might get deleted anytime.

I wouldn't put the effort on web 2.0 sites unless you gonna make thousands of them

I used web 2.0s exclusively as my money site for the first six months I did SEO. You can make good money with them if you put the work into them. Sure, there are risks, but there are risks with domain hosting and registrar accounts too. SEO is not a low risk business. I still put time into ranking and monetizing Web 2.0s and probably always will. I say go for it.

I use a ton of different ones now. A good web 2.0 to use 1) allows you to monetize and 2) does not give you your own subdomain. Squidoo has been a long time favorite.

Ehh, why #2? I have couple tumblr's that have passed my actual money site for long tail keywords.

As I said some of my tumblrs have passed money site in google for long tails so I would say if you want to put the effort into them it will work.

I wouldn't do it .. Do you really want a 3rd party to have control of your money site? You could hit a gold mine and they could just shut your shit down. I would stick to WP or Joomla, I prefer WP though.

But if you where to use web 2.0's I would go with Weebly. They seem to out rank even Wordpress.com sites some times.

Tumblr has a unique internal linking structure with their tags which makes them an exception. With most subdomains you get no internal links from the main domain (think blogger and wordpress). Subdomains are treated like new domains so you are restricted in how fast you link just like you would be with a new site. If you go to a web 2.0 that gives you a URL on their domain you can link aggressively from day 1.

In the past I would have told you no, don't put money or effort into something that can be deleted by a moderator at any time. However I have built enough websites to know that google can slap your site for any reason, no matter how old it is, no matter how fast/slow you build links, no matter what type of links you build.

And since web 2.0s can take a lot more "abuse" without getting slapped, I've actually begun using my own domains less and web 2.0 sites more. If the investment to rank for a keyword is low, I will promote the web 2.0 and move on, knowing that like everything else in life it won't last forever. 1% of the sites you build will make you 90% of your money, so when google slaps your domains or an admin deletes your web 2.0s it's not like you have to rebuild your entire empire, just the small percentage of sites that are making you good money.

And if you are investing more than $100 into ranking a keyword, buy a domain and 301 it to the web 2.0 and build links to that domain. Then if your web 2.0 gets deleted you can redirect the link juice to a new web 2.0. If its a small investment then I wouldn't bother with a 301.

All in all treat it like a calculated risk and try to stay detached or you will lose your sanity. :)

I wouldn't risk it with web2.0 unless you don't put too much effort into creation and blast away with SB afterwards .But you can experiment, I'm doing web2.0 on a daily basis and many of them just suddenly remove your links or ban you.

When i started out, I used blogger and those sites still make me money to this day ( most are 4+ years old ). I would however recommend using WP and purchasing your own site because you are a bit limited with any Web 2.0 properties and you can not sell them if the opportunity presents itself.

You could, but I personally would not put a lot of money/effort into something that I have very little control over. Sure, we don't have full control over purchased domains either (Adsense could ban you, domain could be seized, etc..). But I'd say the chance of a web 2.0 property being deleted is higher.

The average cost to rank my money site keyword to page 1 (1+ year old) is about 100-150 bucks by ordering various services here on BHW.

The average cost to rank my web 2.0 for same keyword to page 1 (created as a buffer for my main).... about 5-10 bucks and 10x faster.

I'm going to start using web 2.0 to monetize from now on, BUT I will also use my own website too. The web 2.0 will make money on it's own but will also have a link back to my website.

This is kinda like a double benefit as you will have the web 2.0 making you money, and also giving you a very strong backlink. So if either gets banned, you wont lose your income from that keyword (unless both get banned)

Would never have them as my money site, other than blogger. But for high quality first tier links, they're great.

    Intersting ideas, thanks

The hybrid concept mentioned by crazedspyker and the idea by doing a 301 to the web2.0 as chaotic said sound nice.
Will take a closer look to weebly and tumblr.

Maybe it could lower the risk of getting deleted when you choose a premium account, like getting your own domain or more pages/space etc.

Maybe one day there will be a list of web2.0s which will likely stay even when you use them obviously as moneysite with affiliatelinks and doing heavy backlinking :D

You should try Squidoo lense, they will not erase your lenses and promotions, they encourage you to make some bucks since part of your earnings (part that you control how much they can get) is going to them or to the charity.

webnode, weeble and blinkweb are good ones too - they never delete my affiliate links.
Have a few 2.0. that you have ads free for cheap as $20-$30/ year (wordpress,blog.com) - you know that this is very fast hosting so why not. I 100% agree that 2.0. are easy for rank. For adsense - blogger, weebly, squidoo and blinkweb are good enough as free properties.

Personally I think you are NUTS to try and make your Web 2.0 your
    money site.

There's risk from just about every angle by giving up the ability to control
    your own website.

Don't build your house on sand, its a poor foundation and won't last long.
