We need to crackdown on "fake" titles

I've been noticing a lot of titles recently that state "Method to Grow Instagram" or "Actual Method to Improve SEO" and OP is really requesting help, not giving.

I don't know what can be done about this, but maybe a mod can add a question mark to the end of the title signifying it's question.

This Bugs me aswell. Not sure if misleading titles are against Forum rules, if not, they should be.
 
You can always use the report button and request the title be adjusted.

Part of the issue is usually a language one as opposed to the OP of a thread being deceitful.
 
even your post title is fake, it should be like control wrong grammar or something.
apart from this in vbulletin there is an option to add pretext to your post most ask/tut/wtb and more like that, i am not sure if this forum has that functionality.
 
I agree, this is like youtube clickbait. So annoying. I hope this will change soon. Thanks for pointing it out.
 
I agree with you guys. Obviously, when a member posts a title that reads as if he is about to reveal a method but it turns out to be a request, he likely knows that it will get more attention that way. Often when I see a title like that, I will take the liberty of changing it to read as a request.

If anyone sees such a title as the kind that is being discussed here, you are always welcome to report it.

Thanks for report approved from Mods. Seems like reporting questions might turn me to a hate monger, but a question should be a question... and a method, a Method.

I have a simple policy that I follow in my forum.

For all such threads, I just add a question mark at the end.

"Method to Grow Instagram" or "Actual Method to Improve SEO" become "Method to Grow Instagram?" or "Actual Method to Improve SEO?"

Readers then know that it is a query.

I was attempting to make a point as to how awful these titles are getting. I knew "fake titles" like "fake news" would get the attention of the mods.

But I'm glad that the mods have answered, and I will use the report button in the future.

It is just common sense to add a freakin` question mark.

Could we have labels on threads? Like a Question, Tutorial etc label? Maybe this will overcome the language differences.
