We need to chill out a bit

I've seen a few threads recently by new members who happen to be female. They introduce themselves and basically just get trolled to the point where they never come back to the forum. I'm aware some of them may be e whoring, but my point is we should act a little more civilized when a new member joins, regardless of supposed gender. I know we are better than that.

I anticipate the flaming, trolling and possible neg rep.

That is all.

I don't have thankyous left but this is a great post.

I've taken part in some of the trolling it was that girl who said she was camgirl and wanted advice, I honestly thought it was her agent and I still think it was him that got her to take a picture so he could promote his cam network....anyway, agree that we should go lighthanded in future such posts.

I couldn't agree more Treeofl1.
I believe that the gender doesn't really matter, seeing a girl's profile doesn't mean that you should treat her differently, or trust "her" blindly, , and that's the only possible way you can get scammed. And again, not everyone is a scammer, most people in here are just looking for advice, i don't see any reason to not help them.

this is supposed to be a respected forum. To those who are spreading their viruses (dirtiness) here please stay in this forum. People here will not gonna waste their effort and time entertaining you.

When I see a thread with a title like, "I'm new here, I'm a girl, please help!" that says to me that even if they really are a girl, they are just using their gender to try to gain an advantage in our community, and that has no place here in my opinion.

There is no point of introducing sex at first post.

While I do agree to an extent with you guys, I think that some of them really don't know better. It was said earlier and I think the best way to get my point across is that everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt.

I'll be the first to admit I've said some noob things during my stay here, I think we all have. My thoughts are that we should make room for such things, it happens.

The problem is that the "girls" always open a thread saying they are female models. If the "girls" didn't say anything about their gender would be different.

What the OP says is relevant...

But how does one, work out who is female and who is an ewhore...

That is the problem...

My take on this is that anyone who comes into the forum and introduces themselves with "Hey boys.....Gina, 22 yr old female IM'er" is bogus. I don't know how it can be seen otherwise.

I agree with aaric's post, what's the point of mentioning your gender in a post on an IM site, it is not a dating site, right?

I agree, it's really sad to see new members get treated this way.

But I think it could be easily solved with a bit of moderation.

Posts like "Tits or GTFO" have absolutely no place on an internet marketing forum, as well as people who post them, regardless of the context.
Asking a female member to show tits (?!) or post their picture to prove they are girls is just sickening, I don't know how posts like that don't get deleted.

Just a few warning strikes with banhammer, and I bet we'd see a lot less drama... and maybe, without all the drama, duffers' picture won't be valid anymore, since girls would be welcomed equally, and would not be asked to post a photo of their mammary glands. But now I'm just fantasizing. :D

As for "why they mention their gender"... well, why not? Gender shouldn't mean anything. Nobody minds when someone joins and writes "I'm an 18-year old guy". But when it's a girl, then it becomes a matter of ulterior motives. People think they're being e-whored by a 40-year old guy called Elroy, a fat, balding ginger who writes SQL code by day, and pretend he's an attractive female by night in order to get some IM tips.

Or sometimes, a girl will say she's a girl expecting us to get all soft and tender and make us kneel down asking how we could be of service. But it doesn't happen often enough to warrant such responses to every "hey, I'm a girl" introduction thread. Everyone should be offered a chance / benefit of doubt.

Without actually revealing that the newbie is a woman, and after some active days on the forum and normal interactions with others, the woman may say for the first time that she is a woman, then she will still get the same respect from members as before. Of course, now nobody will ask her to "prove" it...

A simple answer, to why a new-girl saying that she is a so-and-so girl and ... will get more flames, lies in solving the above phenomenon, imo.

P.S.:
On the internet, and especially on a very busy forum participated by global audiences, some uncontrollable things will take place even if the forum has extremely strict rules to stop them. So, every new member needs to hide some facts, e.g.: the member being a woman, even if this has no sane and believable answers or reasons. The world is made to work that way, sadly. There will always be some of those wild elements mixed among lot more better thinkers on such a huge forum.

I wouldn't be surprised if you were such a retard in real life. :D

I'm out of thanks and rep, but I'm thanking and repping you both in my head, perhaps for slightly different reasons but both because I agree 100% with the two of you ^^

You don't really know someone unless you get ridiculously drunk with them.....or unless you do business with them.

Maybe we can just treat everyone with respect until they act like a whore?

It's embarrassing as a man to see how some guys act. Its like they are the genitalia Nazis.

The recent ones I have seen were simply people saying hello and sometimes what they do, but they get treated like they came in and said "I have tittes, give me stuff!!".

I wouldn't come back for more of that either. Not enough respect in the world anymore.

This ^ Well said dude.
Unless a member starts offering "private" skype sessions for money, they deserve the same respect as any other member imo.
