What are some other ways to check your site on Google?

What do these different types of searches produce, and what are others that can be done?

I'm not sure i understand your post right, but my suggestion is really basic.

You should just type in key words that relate to your website in google and see where you rank.

Ok let's try this.

When I want to see how many pages have been indexed on my site, I search this on google. Site:www.mydomainname.com and it will show how many pages under that domain have been indexed.

What are some other searches that can be done on google? Like how can I tell how many backlinks google see's? Etc.

I've been messing with these, and for the most part seem close.

But the "link" one I'm not to sure.
If I search link:mydomainname.com it shows very few backlinks.
Is there another means to see how backlinks google is seeing?

Google Commands have site, allintitle, intitle, allinurl, inurl, cache, info, link, related and so on, the more information, you can search "google commands" in google.

And does it seem accurate?

I notice GWT shows one thing, and if you use these commands, it shows a little more updated information.

Just type info: domainname to see whether your site is De-indexed or not.
Cache: domainname to check whether your site is cached or not
