Waymo, Yea or Nay?

I've been talking to a friend who is very savvy with stocks, and he asked my opinion.

I'm not good with money; I'm just good with not spending it.

What do you folks think?

Would you get in a driverless taxi?

Waymo’s tech is strong, but fully trusting a driverless taxi is personal. For investing, it’s promising but slow-moving. Watch first if you’re unsure. I’d try a short ride before committing.

Id trust it. they have had millions of successful trips and have a accident rate lower than normal drivers.

I don't spend.

My wife actually is annoyed with me when it comes to when she has to buy me a gift because I have no needs or desires.

When we travel, I go First Class for her, but when I travel alone, it's a Holiday Inn... I just don't see the value in things that are just temporal.

I own 4 pair of shoes, 1 dress pair because events come up now and then where I have to dress, black in color, another pair that I don't wear because the sole is too high for me, a pair of slippers, which I have not worn for years that the dog thinks are toys, and a pair of 55.00 Heydudes because the sole is thin and I can walk in them.

I really like those Heydudes and my wife thinks they are ugly but she has like 40 pair of shoes and I trust her judgment there but I'll never be on the cover of GQ anyway.

I have 3 pictures on my office wall, 2 of my Mother and Father and another of a place my wife and I like to visit, and on my desk I have a coffee mug with a picture of our puppies who have crossed the rainbow bridge, and a softball on that mug from a dear friend.

That softball is the best gift ever. It's got historical friendship behind it.

I just never got the "buy nice things for your lifestyle thing", and although that is not my thought process, that doesn't mean that you should not consider dancing to your own drum.
