I don't think it's appropriate to shitlist them as it's a mistake of mine but a few months ago I registered a domain with doteasy.com which I regret. I registered the domain and entered fake details for the WHOIS, the domain is for testing purposes hence the low paid attention. I haven't accessed the website in a while and now I have forgot my password. I tried resetting the password but I never got any email, then I knew that they go by the WHOIS rather the customer data. I contacted the support and they are unwilling to help! Do not go with them, they also have a sucky control panel, you better off with godaddy or namecheap.

That's right. My fault that I signed up with them. Always godaddy. But not that I care much about the domain, it's just a few bucks..
 
I think you'd have trouble trying to get ownership of any domain, no matter which registrar, if you forgot all of your details... just saying.
 
Usually password reset requests are sent to email (either on registrar account or domain whois). So you used wrong email too in whois?
 
Since the domain is for development/testing purposes, I entered random data in the WHOIS fields. No one would need to contact me so..
 
Ya that is terrible customer service for not giving the domain password and access out to someone who cannot prove they own it.

Are you seriously that fucktarded that you think this problem is their fault?

I got about 200 domains registered with Doteasy. They have some serious deficiencies and problems with that company, and I have numerous disputes and conversations with their support. However, in this case you are clearly too fucking dumb to be on the internet
 
Well why not check the whois data and see what email you used. If it is yahoo or gmail or something and is fake, go create that email account and get them to resend the login details.

You have been reported for the vulgar language. I'm not blaming the domain registrar but just warning others what might happen if they do the same and I believe many people here don't enter their real details. The support is also unwilling to help, they don't even allow me to proof with the CC I used.

I am considering a WP site with them .. can you be more specific? I am doing my first site so dont need problems I can avoid

Your title clearly sounds like you ARE blaming the domain registrar. I clicked on this thread to read a scam report about doteasy.com.

I think you are wrong again. People do enter their real details and in case they want to keep their real details secret they use this neat little tool known as domain privacy.

They are doing the right thing. You could be someone with a stolen credit card.
 
I don't see a reason for attacking OP.

A domain registrar should retrieve domain data using the email you used while signing up, not the one appearing on the whois.
Second, they should do an owner verification (by sending them a scanned copy of the credit card used, along with an ID).

And to the guy who said OP could be using someone else's credit card: can't be, because prior this happening the registrar would have shut his account for credit card fraud.

The thing with the shitty registrar I mentioned in the original post is that they were unwilling to help me access the domain. They go by WHOIS data rather than the account details which would've sucked if I had [email protected]. I used a credit card and I think I had it removed from their system. I'm using Namecheap now, they have free/cheap WHOIS masking service and it's all good.
 
Why do you have so many domains with them if their customer service sucks and other deficiencies?
