Wasted 2.5k on courses

I spent this amount on Investopedia "academy" for courses on the markets. And as an avid fan and reader on trading and investing, they were extremely poor to the say the least. As if they were designed for 100 year olds who just learned how to use the internet last week. No prior warnings about just how basic the material is was given.

I asked for a refund and they said I wasn't eligible for one. Now what can I do to try and get my money back? Have about 20 courses in total with a couple of hours of material.

What was the payment method, did you make one off payments or were they subscription based? Paypal/Credit card etc?
 
Damn. Did you buy them all at once?

Did you check the terms, to see if you're indeed not eligible?

I guess you didn't pay with Paypal. Maybe you can find a local consumer protection institution to send complaint.
 
It was a one off payment for lifetime access to the courses from my revolut account that I bought in bulk to make the most of a student discount they had at the time. Went on Holiday for a little over a month. Came back and saw just how bad the courses were.

As far as I can tell money is gone :( but need ideas on what I can do with them to try and make that money back now.

Make a service/product/small gig from course content, something that people would want to know/use and sell it. The easiest approach would be a pdf with some keypoints/methods from the course, imo

I really like this idea, not only will you be learning the poorly structured course yourself, but re-organizing it so you become a master at the subjects, but also creating a business opportunity to relay your knowledge and out-compete the people who effectively took your 2.5k in exchange half assed courses.
I wouldn't say you were scammed per se, but make the best of a bad job, the content is there to recoup and sell on

Haha I will first have to get rid of the douchebag standing in 90% of the videos explaining 'what investing is' and such things first.

FYI the videos are like 1 min - 3 min each if that give a better idea of the depth of the learning.

I know. There is absolutely no depth. I don’t want to sound callous but you should’ve done some research.

Every BHW member worth listening to will tell you to steer clear of courses. I’ve yet to come across one that has info I couldn’t find with a single google search.

Chalk it up to lesson learnt and move forward as we all must.
 
are you talking about - Day Trading Course – Investopedia Academy by David Green....if yes then these courses are available on wso sites for almost $10...
 
PLEASE stop buying courses.......... Any... all BS.. Sorry you had to go through that. They won't refund you unfortunately.
 
I think it is a decent business lesson. The courses are shit, yet someone intelligent like you spent 2.5K on them. It means Investopedia does something right. .

Try to think about it and benefit from it in your own online business. What attracted you to the courses? What did they well on the sales pages? What one piece of information made you eventually purchase the curses? Did they remarket to you in any way once you visited their pages for the first time? Did they upsell you on something?

You may have wasted $2.5K. But perhaps you can make it back 10 times in your IM business, if you benefit from the lessons learned here,,,
 
Most of that overrated and expensive courses can be found somewhere on the internet for free just like the overrated books. That's why I always try to find the course or book for free, check the material, and if it's worth then I pay to support the creator but most of the time they are sh*t.
 
I'm sorry to hear that, but the facts are:
1. You didn't do your research.
2. You paid for the courses.
3. They delivered them as promised.
4. It took you over a month to check them and ask for a refund.

I wouldn't refund you if you were my client.

Not true mate you have to find the relevant courses you need with people who teach them properly
