Hey guys I noticed that a lot of my sites recently jumped from page 1 back to pages 5-6 etc. within the past 48 hrs.

Anyone with a lot of website also notice such a change?

Yup, me too. Let see what happen next in a week or so, i think it's panda, it's happen to me before this year.

I was wondering when a thread like this would appear.....I have seen a recent project of mine do exactly as the OP states - ranking well since creation for a number of keywords (including the EMD) around 50% of pages on page 1 and the remaining on page 2 things were looking great until yesterday (27th) when all the pages dropped to page 5.

I have been analysing any backlinking I have been doing and can find no evidence of any problems - trick here I think is to continue and maintain link velocity and content updates and hopefully its just a glitch...

I am hoping that this is just a temporary flux, as all the content on my sites is original and they tend to be bigger sites (usually 20+ pages).

So the only thing I can think of is either they have devalued some sort of link or this is temporary and I should shoot up further? lol.

I guess we just gotta wait and see.

Normally every time I've seen a drop it has been followed by a climb above the position it ranked at previously.

I am in the same boat - the site is good quality shit with lots of unique content. I am adding new pages at a rate of just 3 per week and currently have around 12 pages all of which are unique, seo'd to death and no less than 700 words - its good shit so I would not expect to stay in the depths of page 5! that said, you can never place your faith in the bitch which is G......

I've got the same thing, my site is a quality site - Roughly 300 pages 1/4 700+ words - all original well written content.

I have dropped from number 1 for some good keywords to 6,7 and even the 3rd page for the top one.

To me this seems to be some kind of filter as I have retained my authority and still ranking for longtail and am still first page for other keywords. The filter is down to linkbuilding from BMR I think. Although some competitors are still ranking with other blog networks being used.

Has anyone experienced the same thing and it is attributable to build my rank (BMR)?

I'm going to see what happens and then probably switch to another network and this time do more variety of link building.

My blog with 100's of posts targeting many different keywords got a slight boost :) Most of my 1st page posts moved up a few spots, and other posts that were on pages 4+ moved up 1-2 pages.

same, I posted before and people said it was a dance, its not dancing it has dropped a whole page out. Only thing I am doing new is AMR. Again good quality site, unique orginal content etc, I have just carried on link building, was going to dump new content on the site today to see if that helps.

I am using Article Ranks and a few blog comments here and there
as well as some good quality article submissions in addition to Venom. All of these are slow drip fed links and although this site is only a few months old I do not see problems with the building of links. They are being found gradually and I would consider my link profile even for a fledgling site relatively moderate - It is looking like a age filter perhaps - would be good to hear what age other people sites are which have been hit....

I think so. Before a panda update there is usually a higher crawl rate on my sites in webmaster tools then a day or so later the rankings change.

Mine is about 8 months old, a new site I put up weeks ago was not hit at all. I did notice that google activity was higher the past few days on my site, cache updates etc so it has obviously been looking at something.

As a thought...I have been link building and not adding new content for a fair number of weeks now, I wonder if the update was to do with the rate of content updates?? Anyone else hit by this not added new content for a period?

Wait... how many sites are we talking here?

If I see one site drop down, I don't care.

2-4 sites... no worries...

Half of my sites in one week... something is up.

But no... I just updated rank and don't see anything major. And I don't base my rankings of day to day changes anyways unless I see a network wide drop at once.

I've got another site that I don't add content to and nothing has changed. I also don't really do linkbuilding to this site either. So hence can further support my BMR theory. The site in question also has new blog posts added every 2-3 days.

I'm thinking now that it might be attributable to just using 1 pre-dominant link building method.

Something is going on :) I see a huge boost in crawls the past week then a huge drop in serps, and it seems I am not alone.

I dont use any blog networks, I have a diverse range of links comming in as well, I just paid for some dir listings (not live yet) and might actually sub to BMR (or some blog network, MrE has one here) to switch link building tactics, article marketing has been the main tool I use.

I think it is content...I just tagged a new blog onto the back of the site so am going to start adding new content.
