Was the June 30 algorithm update aimed at suppressing keyword performance?

It is no longer recommended to rely on google alone.
The social media volume is not large right now, it can just be maintained, so we have to make do with it for now.

Bing does seem to be 1000% better than google on google results. Maybe people are not trying to manipulate it so much.
Bing is good, and although the traffic is stable, it is not very large.

You need to wait a little to understand what they targetted. Google is moving away from backlinks. We can expect low authority or unique content sites gain traction.
It is self-harming. Isn't it afraid that its market share will continue to decline due to these so-called updates? Now other engines are gearing up to compete for Google's share, and AI is also eyeing it. Isn't Google afraid of losing more users by doing this?

The algorithm is much more dynamic now than it's ever been. And people are still doing SEO like it's 2016.
Could you elaborate a bit more on what you meant? If SEO isn’t working like it used to, what’s the best way to promote a site nowadays?

I’m just starting to learn all this from scratch with the goal of launching my own site in the future, so your comment really caught my attentio

May you be right my friend, good links are a pain in the back to get these days if you don't want to pay a fortune.

Also, bing is fair to people who want to make post genuine content on the website.

Yeah, the June 30 update looks like it hit keyword rankings hard, even for legit sites. Google’s getting stricter, and with all these updates, SEO feels tougher. Many sites are seeing drops despite of good content. Still possible to rank, but you must focus more on user intent, quality, and diversify traffic sources. How’s your site coping?

My issue with each dang update will always be these old link spam sites full of junk repeated text and spam links 10-30 years old coming back each update. It is getting very old like these bad sites are. I always manage to out rank a lot of them on google but there is no real reason for these sites to do so well except link spam. 75% or more of the links on them are way out of niche but google algo cant seem to figure it out. A few of them looks like a 5 year old wrote the content.

I can never tell at times what the algo is leaning towards because these old nonsense sites reappear each update.

Seems like it, honestly. Many sites reported losing keyword rankings while overall visibility stayed stable — feels more like Google tweaking how it values context and intent over pure keyword targeting.
