Warrior Forum Sold To Freelancer.com

Freelancer admin are already having talks

of lowering the WSO posting price.

What was already a cesspool will get worse.

The discussion is here.

Hi Matt Barrie - if you are indeed the 'Real' Matt Barrie,

I can see how you have personally gained by being usurped by Freelancer.com, but I am at a serious loss as to see how your members, ?the members of Warrior forum? will benefit in the same ways as you have from this merger?

Kindly explain??

Hi Guys

Matt Barrie here, Chief Executive of Freelancer.com.

Happy to answer any questions you might have.

Regards
Matt
PS: BHW is next.

I not think ur englesh is queit wel filtrated.

Anyway, I would give BHW a price of around not less than 5 Million USD$ and not more than 25 Million USD$.

When Damien bought BHW he based his purchase price on, in part, revenue. There are other factors to consider as well when purchasing an online business such as blue sky, future potential revenue, assets not being used and so on.

That being said you are not real close on the purchase price but it is of no matter. We have a progressive person in ownership and the forum is moving forward.

I don't think we can even be sure if BHW will be sold or not.
If Damien bought it, then why can't this so self-proclaimed 'Matt' can't do it.
I never knew BHW was bought, thought always the owner died or something.

I still have no idea how matt can making profits from WF, instead from WSO / Premium membership / Advertising.

Unless you take -%10-%5 for every WSO/item that is sold. :D
Kinda like fiverr. Or create digital + aff like clickbank style but WF version. PPC, PPD, CPA and soon on.
With 700K users + sellers, fuhh, I can do tons of things. Just need to be creative.

They may resell it for a higher price. 3.2M $ sounds awfully low for such a large forum.

They probably priced it based on its revenue. I would guess WF makes about $6k a day - so that's $2.2 mil a year roughly. What would you pay for it? And how many people can afford to shell out more than $3 million for a forum? Basically you are handing somebody a ton of work.

Well, $3M is a common investment on the start-up scene. There is a band wagon of investors, ready to pay $3M to companies that are still in the idea stage. They get 51% share and only 10% success probability (e.q. 9 out of 10 start-ups fail).

WF is far past the start-up stage with proven revenue record. This is why the price surprises me.

Another way to look at it is this way - if they want to generate $10K a month in revenue they need to sell 500 WSO (plus renews). If they raised the price to $100 (this is minimal comparably speaking), you would only have to sell 100 WSOs including renews. So this way, you can lose 4 out of 5 prospective customers and still make the same amount of revenue. I would suspect they would maybe lose 1 out of 5 if they raised it to this price.

I don't know. It's their business, but I think it's a bad move by Freelancer.com.

They never have. My point was at lower pricing, you create even more saturation and lower quality. It was a moot point though.

Cutting the fees in half is what really boggles my mind. It would be great to see the numbers at the end of the year and compare them to years past. I see it being a major blunder on their end. I'm sure they will figure out other ways to make that revenue up though. Just think about the amount of cross selling that is going to be going on over there. Oh my...what a shit show it's going to be.

I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, but simply raising a one time fee doesn't cover the crazy amounts of money you lose on WSO fees. Don't forget every time they want to pop to the top after their thread leaves the second page, they have to pay a renewal fee, which if I understand correctly used to be $40 also. Now that is $20. It's almost like cutting a recurring fee in half. This is basic mathematics. I'm just having a hard time rapping my head around it. I am sure there are much smarter people over there at Freelancer that know what they are doing...I hope for their share holders sake.

Consider this;
- Freelancer is now a public company, with a very healthy cash position after the float
- In line with their overall operation, I suspect they buy strategic assets, not cashflow assets
- When you're playing longball, the short-term profitability of an asset is immaterial
- The true value, I suggest, in WF as an asset is not the cash flow at all; it's the massive base of (alarmingly loyal) users.

Those things in mind, halving the fees actually makes good sense :)

Wow. Incredible, congratz to the admin he has a lot of money now. I dont think the forum was worht that much with all of that fake and quick rich schemes.
