If you receive an email like this pretending to be namecheap

Don't click on the link its a link to a phishing site to scam you.I don't how this guy got my email address namecheap database got leaked by hackers.

If you click on the link it goes to this phishing website which avast flag this url

Change your namecheap passwords as soon as possible.

Here is the update I got namecheap
Dear ----,


We are writing to inform you of a recent issue with our email system.


Our investigation has revealed that an upstream (third party) system that we use to send emails has been impacted. This caused unauthorized emails being sent on our behalf. We have immediately suspended the sending of emails until the issue is resolved.


We would like to assure you that Namecheap’s own systems were not breached and your products, accounts and personal information remain secure.


We kindly request that you ignore these emails and do not click on any links contained within them. Our team is currently working closely with the upstream provider to investigate the root cause.


We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused and thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to resolve the issue. We will update this post as soon as we have further information.

if anyone click on link will be hacked by 0day fail? or juste phishing to stole carte bancaire ? if any one scan website

I mean the email was sent from a legit corporation, so that way it would seem more legit for people who are not that "tech-savvy".
 
Their sendgrid account was compromised apparently. People who are tech-savvy enough to register domains and whatnot may not fall for it but you never know.

But like it shows as from Namecheap .

how would you detect this without googling the ip ?
If I was in a hurry and didn’t verify with dhl, I would pay it probably. It’s not a normal phishing email , it’s a hack

All that skills and they did it for a 7$ scam lol .
 
That's like if you got an email from microsoft.com telling you that your 20pc McDonalds chicken nuggest and extra-large diet-coke order is ready to be picked up... they prey on the stupid.

True but they are preying on stupid and people who are careless .
No idea why they don’t target directly related to Namecheap but what you aspect from someone using a github template of a phishing email that charges not even 10$ lol.
 
Received those in my spam. Read it and instantly knew it was a scam. Since I only use that email for a few sites, was wondering where it was from. Now I know, thanks I guess..
 
Yep , Today I just woke up and got an email saying the same thing you mentioned !
 
Check the email headers. And pretty sure it’s not just the $7 as the email claims but once you click the link or open attachment, you might end up having your payment account compromised or device infected with malware or both which results in far more damage. Social engineering at its best.
