I get a lot of information from Facebook too now. In particular, news, etc.

Plus there is a rumor that they will be launching a search platform in the near future... I could easily see people using this instead of google. A kind of all in one deal. People will log on to their computer and never leave the FB site.

They're both as bad as each other. While they both try and maintain differences, both delve in each others markets. Facebook know they hit sometihng big and try to keep themselves fresh and not become another myspace or Hi5. Anways, nice update about the like exploit.....now to find another way around it :)

You could be absolutely right, but I still don't see FB taking over Google. Maybe I am wrong, who knows?
 
If you have a massive influx of Page views on a Google Adsense account it will get your account blocked.

Its the same for any site.

If you have a aged, trusted account doing big PV then you coudl probably get away with a crazy influx..

Of course they will give this invalid clicks bs to any new account with a influx of clicks...
 
Although Facebook might, I can tell you I don't think Facebook has the capability to last. After doing work for them, I can say that they aren't prepared for a sudden influx of new users. Facebook has grown to 400 million users in 5 years. The sudden surge of interest with hype can almost promise a sudden collapse. That is what Facebook is afraid of, all the users leaving for the next big thing.

The problem with Facebook is that many active users think its their own personal space. Which is not. They assume when they upload a photo or information, that information is theirs to control

What are you trying to say? You want to know how to place a Like button on an external webpage for one of your fan pages? That is simple and has been posted in this section many times. If this is what you are looking for I will post it again. However, if you are wondering how to clickjack a fan page, I cannot delve into that information.

I agree with you 100%. I have questioned many times why Google doesn't create their own social network because it would definitely overtake Facebook IMHO. I know Google already owns Orkut, but IMO that is far from a serious project and from my understanding most of its users are not located within the United States. I don't think the majority of Facebook's users are located in the United States, but let's not kid ourselves, Facebook is the most popular social networking site in the United States (and even worldwide) at the moment. However, I definitely agree Facebook is worried about "the next big thing" coming along. I mean hell, that's exactly what Facebook did to MySpace. It is definitely possible that it can happen again, only this time Facebook will be on the loosing side.

It depends on what you're talking about. Clickjacking a webpage has been going on for about a month I would say, yes (maybe longer). However, Facebook has disabled the fact that you "liked" a certain website from showing up on your wall.
 
I don't think fb can ban you for a lot of likes, think about all those page about "how to get back old facebook" that has instructions that they need to invite all their friends and blah blah... and those pages are so viral, and still there growing up !
 
Despite their relationship with facebook being bad, it's the adwords they need to protect.

FB will definitely delete your fan page (and maybe your account as well) if it has a huge spike in "likes" - especially if the fan page is fresh/new.
 
Ignoring everything apart from the top post, this is quite clear with all the auto-like click jacking scripts kicking around and the "like this page to view content" stuff.

It's growing like wildfire and will be ended soon i think it's fair to say.

Wrong. Won't happen. There is a huge distinction between Myspace and Facebook, that and the name "Facebook" (the brand). FB is embedded in our minds now, for someone else to come along and steal the 500m users (and growing) would be a total miracle. People are just to invested now.
