WARNING: Like Method, Liking Method Crack Down From Facebook

Folks, Facebook Inc is cracking down on iframe "like" method rampant on Facebook, look in the news there's an article called "Rash of Facebook 'likejacks' Still Flaring"

Although the method is new, they are logging the abusers and reporting it as fraud to Google Adsense Program for fraud.

Funny, out of all the external link likes I've seen I've never had one try and clickjack me.

Lucky for me I'm sticking with "incentive-free" pages I guess...
 
It is just a scare so people don't go to the pages and give those folks money

I mean you want them to say, "These guys are making money doing this, boy that ticks us off", I mean they'd have a million copy cats on their hands

However, they still want to contain the problem, Facebook is right by Google (Facebook is in San Mateo and Google is in Mountain View about 10 miles apart) so there is a relationship
 
Proximity does not in and of itself imply a relationship. From what I understand, Google hates Facebook partly because they see them as serious competition particularly after Facebook kicked them out a few months ago.

I doubt they do anything hand in hand unless they have to.

Like I wrote they have a relationship, I didn't say they were in love with each other. When I was there it wasn't a hate relationship at all. Some disappointments with decisions on both ends. But since the traffic being brought is against AdSense Terms of Service, they would be interested in pursuing something.
 
Damn, they really hate spammers. I wonder if they think that theyre doing any good? I mean, fucking with our pages and such just makes us go back to the drawing board and figure a way around the new security. An endless circle.
 
Monetizing is one thing, but infecting people's computers with malware is stupid and FB was bound to catch up when it spreads.
 
Malware is different,
But they'll use that to get the other stuff looked into,
All they need is a lawsuit against "John Doe" to issue subpeonas into accounts, such as AdSense and PayPal.

It isn't malware and it doesn't infect anything. Damn case of Chinese whispers and bad reporting.
 
Like I wrote, they don't want people going to the sites, if they find out that people are making money doing it, soon instead of being 2 or 3 guys it bcomes 2,000 - 3,000 people

Running a story, what sounds better to tell the public about your product, currently being hijacked? A linkjacker trying to infect your computer, stay away or marketers monetizing a facebook product to riches?
 
They are cracking down on people who are using "likejacking" or "clickjacking" for the purpose of spreading malware, phishing sites, scam sites, etc.

Believe me, they have their hands full.

If you aren't doing any of the above then I wouldn't worry.

they will ban your website if you get too much traffic too quickly
 
Something else is in play, I know sites that have 2M+ fans and grew exponetially, these pages are still up
 
But to be fair, the number of "likes" or fans on a page is now being regarding as trivial
One page with 300K fans maybe more more valuable than one with 2M

I strongly disagree. Facebook will never surpass Google IMHO. People on Facebook are generally there for entertainment and/or to keep up with their friends.

People who search on Google are actually seeking information and/or something to buy.
