    Hey guys,

I have paid couple of thousand dollars to programmers for web development and android apps and no doubt i earned big bucks through it..

but sometimes i would love to code myself , sometimes i think that i could make much better UI . can someone guide me how to get started i have tried to follow couple of courses but can't cope up with them , as it seems like a slow process ...i would like to learn within a month or two....

Try starting to take courses on udemy, lynda or any other platform dedicated for learning :) (I have learned to program in Objective-C+Swift from udemy courses alone)

To get a PRO in ALL these stuff will take a lot of time. Its not just about to learn the programming language, but also gaining experience building various applications.

If you want to do web development, then learn PHP(+HTML, MySQL, JavaScript).
For App-development you will need JAVA.

You probably should start with PHP, because there you can start with pure linear programming and then you can move to procedural programming and if all mastered then you can go to object oriented programming.
With JAVA you will have to jump to object oriented programming(OOP) right away.

I've seen a lot of "self-declared" PHP pro's getting scared with OOP, so my advices is to start slow ;-).

I didn't take any course to learn html, php or for android development but I'm learining the coding since 7 years. i cannot say that i'm the best but i'm pretty enough to do all works and wishes which helps me to earn money on the internet.

If you ask me i think you should start to learn firstly html, php and then java coding for android. it' ll take a long time to learn all these languages but believe me; seeing a program which is working and made by you is priceless. Source ? then my answer will be "the internet".

Well, i started with "Basic", then Pascal, then C, then C++ till i got to PHP, so i had pretty good background when i started. Therefore all i needed is google "php + what i want to do" ;-).
W3C is a pretty goo authority in this field, so you could start here:
    http://www.w3schools.com/php/
I find text tutorials better for programming that videos.

Question on how long it takes to make a website with php is very vague, you actually do not need PHP to build a website HTML+CSS is enough. So it really depends on what the site has to do.
If you want to build a website in php, then you probably need also database, so the process is:
    1. Properly layout the database model and create the database tables (You need to learn MySQL for this)
    2. Prepare the static pages (Design in PSD? you can buy that, then HTML + CSS, CSS is browser dependent, so if you want to do things properly, u need to test the design in all major browsers)
    3. Then PHP comes in places, you need to connect your dynamic content from database to the static pages.

For a simple page like this PHP is not the biggest part to learn.

You can make a simple website in a week (without previous experience). But it still have a lot of bugs.
The most things you will learn will be on more challenging websites, like sites with lot of visitors. There you must optimize all your code and also think about hackers -> making the website secure (most common hacks XSS, SQLInjections).

If you want to take a short glimpse into it, I suggest codeacademy.com - it is fun to use and you get the concept quick. It is not for learning a language, but more for getting a peak if it is for you.

You start with one language only.
Start with HTML - this is basic basic basic, you will need it for the formatting of every website. PHP will be used for what your site can do, HTML / CSS is about how it will look and MySQL is how the data needed for the website will be stored.

Start with HTML / CSS. Once you feel good to go and built a few sites from scratch, you can head over to PHP. Along learning PHP you will need knowledge in MySQL which will be learned by side.

Typing all caps is equivalent of shouting and being mannerless on the net. Don't you know that much?

And before learning any kind of programming language, learn about flowcharting and writing the pseudocode. Google the terms...

The thread is closed, or the responses gave you what you're looking for? Very big difference ;)

The best developers are made from lazy people who get bored easily. However if learning is boring to you...

I'd frequently spend 2 hours writing code to do some tedious/boring task that would take 30 minutes to do by hand. That's where lazy and easily bored come into play ;). Two hours being entertained so I can be lazy while software does the boring work!

Best advice I can give you, is learn a language that has an IDE with auto-completion (like intellisense in Visual Studio). Every time that little window pops up for something I haven't used before, I scroll through the list and start playing with every method and checking what every property returns.

Curiosity killed the cat, but made the programmer :)

If you think it's boring don't do it. Find something you enjoy doing because life is too short. If you do want to do it if recommend learning htm5 and php first. The easiest way, I think, is to think of a goal, like an app/site you'd like to make and then research how to do it bit by bit. You'll make mistakes along the way and you'll learn from it. I have a few android apps but I don't know much Java, I just create an HTML/php/JavaScript one page web app and load the webview. It works and aids rapid deployment. I have more ideas than time :)

I think I cant do it....as i have more ideas and rather than learning myself its better to hire someone to do the job....As i was doing before...
cause that helps me to earn more ....and u r right i think i enjoy executing projects rather than doing myself.,...
