I just want to answer some questions since I feel like a lot of people still do not get how the algorithm from tiktok works

Does TikTok show your videos only to the geolocation you are?
Yes. If your video goes super Viral, there is a chance for you to reach an international audience. I am from Germany, so my Videos only get shown to the feed of people living in Germany. All my videos which reached the 1 million view rate also got shown to people from Switzerland and Austria (also German-speaking countries) My only Video which reached more than 10m views also reached a few people from the US!

Does buying views from panels help?
It depends on the quality. The most important thing to get a viral video is the completion rate. Meaning if your video is 10s long the view should also be otherwise it would be harming.

Does using more tags kill your videos?
No, not really, the new updates don't favor hashtags at all. Your video can go viral without any hashtags at all. For safety reasons I still never use more than 3 hashtags.

How to make it go viral actually?
Well, let us talk about the algorithm for a while.
I will count the most important things which determine if your video will go viral:
1. Repeat Rate
2. Completion Rate
3. Shares
4. Having a viral comment (a comment with a lot of likes)
5. Comments
6. Likes

As you can see the most important thing for your video to go viral is if your video gets watched until the end and if the viewer repeats watching it. You should stop comparing the tiktok algo to the one of Instagram and actually to the one of youtube. The goal from the tiktok algo is to keep you on the app for as long as possible.

Likes don't really matter at all, I have videos which have only 10k views and 4k likes which still didn't do really well because the completion rate was really bad.

Interesting, do you speak only german in your vids or do you also fit in some english? Could be a factor. How’s your monetization?

Doesn't matter my English videos also only reach German people, except for the super-viral one

I don't recommend you to use any at all, your content will reach enough organic traffic if you post good content.

Buying any views/likes/comments will completely F your account, maybe permanently. I've talked to several people who had to restart.

Will be interesting to see what effect this has. At the moment, any automation I'm doing is to gain 'awareness' of my account and allow people to choose whether to watch videos and follow. Requires high-quality account but doesn't require you to guess the algorithm. Hopefully we can find out what the algorithm thinks of bought views. I think there is some kind of batch release algorithm but I'm not sure if it actually attributes the batches to views or just compares them (percentage) blindly.

If you're asking me, its been entirely content from other platforms. It took me from 0 followers 0 views on day 1 to 3k+ followers 1M views and 50k hearts within about 2 weeks.

Unlike most people here on BHW, I'm more interested in building my personal brand than monetizing a niche account so I am starting to make personal content but if you were a niche page you could just carry on doing what I was.

Reuploading short motivational videos from IG. I think I uploaded about 5 or 6 before I had my first viral post. Viral growth is WHERE ITS AT on TikTok because going viral is so easy. You can put loads of effort into slow, sustainable growth (like on IG) but a single viral post causes a ricochet through all you other posts and even though your new posts won't achieve as well, the mean view count will increase.

I've just been hit like most other people with some sort of algorithm change meaning my views are down massively at the moment. To try and avoid this and get ahead of the curve, I've started posting original content, in vertical format, recorded in-app to please the algorithm. Trying some automation as well but giving all the bots a go to see what is best. Going live if your account has been invited is a great way to engage with an audience if you want to show yourself. I'm not sure how but I get an extra 100 followers when I go live on top of all my watchers.

Post regularly, don't use loads of hashtags (not sure whether its users or the algorithm but loads of hashtags never go viral), and perfect your captions. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CAPTIONS. If you're not posting personal content with you in it, then you need to find a way to make it personal. The caption is your place. On a motivational video, 'tbh this one of my favourites XD' is a better caption than 'A 90 second NY resolution to change your life'.
